"Plenty of walking trails in the area. Sidewalk friendly as well so walking your dog in safe places would not be a problem"
  • Ywzpgvzrcp
"Not enough parks with playgrounds for kids to play in. Several greenways but parks need to be improved."
  • Trulia User
"I lived there for 2 years and I love this Comunity, schools are really good. I feel secured all the time. "
  • Dgesser3
"Don’t know the neighbors and have lived here nearly 2 years. There are lots of marathons, parades, Panthers games & Knights games & Tryon blocked for different festivals."
  • Tiona
"You see many people walking there dogs and with there dogs at bars. The area is extremely pet friendly."
  • Leanne W.
"Gatherings and concerts and the people that live here! Always something going on in Charlotte.. concerts"
  • Yoselin T.
"There are many restaurants and fun places to enjoy, inside and out. Parking is not too hard to find but everything is walking distance. "
  • Garrett G.
"Not sure. I don’t socialize in this neighborhood. It’s close to anything you want is within a few miles. Sidewalks and parks are in good conditions. "
  • Kellyskillen127
"There are so many other dogs to play with, and residents are very tolerant of dogs, even in the luxury condo and rental buildings. Lots of green areas, but a shortage of enclosed dog runs (unless you live at Skyhouse) which will hopefully be remedied. A few spots where you can bring your pup to lunch or happy hour, from the casual Corner Pub to the upscale Ink n Ivy."
  • Reeves R.
"We walk to nearly everything we need from groceries to doctors, entertainment to nightlife. Light rail extends the walkable area. Getting into car traffic is mostly optional."
  • Kelly S.
"Many buildings and communities here organize their own events around food, beer/wine, pets, yoga, etc. There are also 4th Ward tours and events. Tryon Street hosts multiple street festivals throughout the year."
  • Trulia User
"Modern place with great walking system. Including indoor paths ways and stuff. Really like this place"
  • Jon W.
"Uptown is growing so fast. 50+ Increase in local population. Expensive but great! Inexpensive compared to similar cities in size and so much more to do and see! "
  • John
"There is a lot of pavement. That said there are plenty of dog runs but those can get crowded. There are plenty of owners though. "
  • Derek
"I walk to work so there is no issue at all. There are plenty of bikes and scooters to assist, but it's a 15 minute walk for me anyway."
  • Derek M.
"There are some families here. It is mostly 20 year olds having fun and great restaurants and bars. Short walk to uptown is nice too."
  • Aaron M.
"The commute to downtown for me is very quick and easy. The only time it gets tricky is when there are major events going on."
  • Victoria Y.
"I was kind of worried that the area would be a ghost town after work. It's not. There are enough hotels, restaurants, entertainment open until 10 or 11 pm that if I have to walk home alone I still feel safe."
  • Lrborel
"Leafiness, established trees, a couple miles to all sorts of retail. Not too far out, not so close in as to be expensive. Very safe feeling."
