Overall, this school provides great opportunities for student success. However, the school community has areas that need improvement. While many teachers and staff members are welcoming and respectful, some do not treat students with the same level of respect. Additionally, certain staff members unfairly target students based on their "reputation," which creates a negative environment.Another major concern is how staff handle students' phones. I strongly disagree with the way they pressure students into unlocking their devices for inspection. This practice feels like an invasion of privacy, and if i was a parent, I would not want my child's personal information accessed without consent. A more appropriate approach would be for staff to secure the phone while awaiting permission from a parent or guardian. From personal experience, I know that staff members frequently go through students' phones, which is deeply concerning.

The special education teachers were good for my kid. The principal has an attitude and she’s not friendly to parents and students. The leadership is awful based on what my neighbor says. Get new leadership.

Garland high school has great IB program. The teachers are amazing and well qualified. great school. Highly recommended IB program.

Hey, just a real talk moment. The number of students per teacher is way more than what’s officially listed it’s actually over 30 kids per class. So imagine how hard it is to keep everyone focused when some students are just there to act out or try to impress others. A lot of kids act totally different at school than they do at home, and it’s usually because they want to fit in. Sometimes that means doing anything but their work.Wondering why grades are delayed or why someone’s failing? It’s not always on the teacher. Missing assignments are usually the real issue, but it’s easier to blame the teacher than to just do the work—especially when students literally have unlimited access to tools like the internet and AI to help them. If a student truly needed help, there are ways. But honestly, a lot of kids will do anything to avoid classwork.And don’t even get started on screen time. Phones and computers become distractions fast social media, games, you name it. Some students will argue or even get physical just to keep their device from being taken. And if a teacher tries to step in, it doesn’t always help when parents aren’t supportive of the consequences.

This place has gone downhill since Mrs. Bailey and so many good people left. The principal is awful and literally hates kids. It's so sad to see where this school is now compared to how wonderful it was just a few years ago. We are pretty disappointed. I would not recommend this school to anyone anymore.

Back Elementary has been a disappointing experience in many ways. The atmosphere is far from welcoming, primarily due to the principal's questionable leadership style. Rather than fostering a supportive environment for both students and staff, the principal often resorts to bullying tactics. This creates a culture of fear rather than encouragement, making it difficult for teachers to thrive and for students to feel safe and valued.The lack of communication and support from the administration is glaring. Instead of addressing concerns, the principal seems to dismiss them, which only adds to the frustration. It's disheartening to see how detrimental this leadership is to the school's morale and overall learning environment.

Teachers talk to students badly while pointing in their face and put hands on students. Other students threaten with weapons and they never get checked .Ms Allen is a poor principle . They retaliate of you call the district on them

Discrimination against a 10-year-old boy with ADHD and ASD who has been bullied since he began attending this school, with nothing done to the other children who are bullying him, but this boy who is being bullied is constantly punished, and the children who are bullying him take sides against him. This school has to be thoroughly examined because not only are pupils not truthful, but neither is the staff, and they are now isolating this youngster from defending himself because he does not feel safe.
