Read what parents are saying about N Garland High SchoolAll I can say as a parent is keep your child and yourself out of this school and environment if you don't want your child to exposure drugs and drug sellers. Please please listen my advice .
Posted by a parent on 5/23/2023My son is currently a freshman at the school, his grades are high and the environment around him is very supporting. There are a lot of extra circular activities, and very happy with the selection of having him attend North Garland. My son really seems to be thriving, which makes me feel at ease. I would highly recommend anyone send their child to North.
Posted by a parent on 10/21/2022I attended from 2017 to 2021 and participated in MST and AMS programs. I can recommend attending this school if you want to pursue a career in STEM or medicine. However, I would probably attend somewhere else if you are not looking to participate in AP and DC courses, as many of the good teachers are assigned to these sections.
Posted by a community member on 5/8/2022Prejudice leadership favoring the ones who look like them. Definitely not a place for African American students unless you want your children to be treated differently.
Posted by a community member on 5/7/2021My son is currently a junior at North. He loves the school, band , and engineering courses. Most teachers are exceptional, but we have had a couple that didn't seem to want to teach. There are a lot of courses and activities to choose from. I am sending my freshman there this year also. There is a lot of school pride which makes it fun too. I recommend this school even though the rating has gone down.

They have a very holistic approach to education and a very caring attitude. My son has been invited to two other magnet programs, but I choose to keep him in this environment. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHorrible staff today I went to 3rd grade ceremony in the cafeteria meet up with formal student who was siblings with the 3 grader. The formal student was with me the whole ceremony next to my side watching we were whispering while all the other parents where also chatting talking about her ceremony tomorrow. One of your staff member comes up to my child and tells them rudely to stop talking mean while she was next to me doing nothing wrong than whispering a child can’t talk no more or what.(If you don’t like your teaching job why even bother to go)This teacher had no right to come up to my child and tell her anything especially in a rude way! My child did not even wanted to continue talking. The whole ceremony she keep staring at my child this women wasn’t even a formal teacher of my child and never has been this past years.Parent Review10mo ago - Davis Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagehave a daughter that started at NGMS at 5 years old. She was coming from a situation where behavior in her private kindergarten was out of control. When I visited NGMS my main criteria for having my daughter there was strong academics, a welcoming atmosphere, and a good behavior management system. As a teacher myself I could tell very quickly that NGMS offered exactly what I was looking for. I truly believe the staff at NGMS cares for the students, takes a personal interest in each child, and wants each child to excel to their greatest capability. My child went from knowing letters and most sounds to reading cvc and cvce words. She is also able to do simple addition and subtraction that my other child ( in 1st grade) is currently doing. I have no doubt she could skip her regular kindergarten year and go into 1st grade if that was what we wanted. Overall, every person that my child has dealt at NGMS has made her a priority and I appreciate the education she has received.Parent Review2y ago
