Pantry, back door entryway. Hot tub with shelter located in secluded backyard garden. Secret garden with rose and flower path, lots of roses, huge tree-like rhododendrons. Small shop for projects, gardening, office, playhouse, or tool shed, separate heated laundry facility with laundry sink adjoins shop, also has room for small office there, music practice, rent to student as a studio, or whatever????. Great front porch for morning coffee and watching the world go by. Improvements in 2016-2021: new dining and living room chandeliers, new lighting fixtures upstairs in bedroom and bath, new bedrooms and bath painting, new lighting , new fixtures in upstairs bath, new kitchen sink and tile, new carpeting throughout the house, refinished kitchen cabinets and new dishwasher installed. New electrical box and wiring in 2020. New heat pump installed in 2020. Old furnace removed. New roof and gutters installed April 16, 2021. This house was the anchor house for a large farm, and the first house in this area, originally on 100 acres.

Neighborhood Description

This is an older neighborhood with many well-kept older homes and a smattering of more recent ones. Many of the homeowners have lived here for many years and are professors at George Fox College, retired professors, or local teachers at Newberg high school and elementary schools. This property is about 1 1/2 blocks from a city park in one direction, and another city park is about 8 blocks away. Champoeg State Park, with running and biking trails, local history information, and dog park is 4-5 miles away. Walking distance to several churches and downtown with restaurants and shops, but without the high traffic streets. Newberg Elementary School is 2 blocks away. Newberg is one of the hottest property prospects in the state recently, and has experienced unprecedented interest because of the growth of Yamhill county wine industries. Many local wineries (Yamhill County is Wine Country!) , access to Columbia River Gorge hiking, Mt. Hood trails, Oregon beaches are generally 1.5 to 2.5 hours away, other local hiking trails are closer.
