6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is terrible if your child has a learning disability such as Adhd, or any other special needs. Instead of trying to help and assist a child, they will target them as a "problem child" then suspend them multiple times for minor infractions that could be handled by a guidance counselor, or a teachers aid. The child ends up losing valuable learning time, and is left to fend for themselves. Parents days are interrupted having to leave work early to go pick child up from school. If your child has special needs do not send them to this school. The staff does not have the time, patience, or qualifications to deal with anything other than "completely normal behavior"!Parent Review2y ago13 Reviews - Weller Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have two children that attend Weller. We had heard that another local school was "the best" but Weller has been fantastic and we feel like we have the best! The staff are excellent! We are very grateful for these teachers who love their jobs!Parent Review10y ago2 Reviews - Check out schools near 5723 Haystack Dr.

"Be mindful of your neighborhood. There’s a drug problem in Fairbanks but also a lot of good people. Just be selective in your social groups and teach your kids to do the same. "

"Neighborhood is wonderful! Close to Ft. Wainwright (about a 5min drive to the back gate that is open from 0500 to 2000) as well as Eilson AFB (about 25min away). Contrary to other reviewer's post, this neighborhood is on the other side of town from Pioneer Park, movie theatre, and the correctional facilities. It's a quiet, family friendly neighborhood where everyone keeps to themselves but waves when you're out and about. "

"Love this neighborhood! Right next to Ft. Wainwright's back gate (so less traffic getting on to base), 5 minute drive to the city and close to all the amenities (Fred Meyer and Costco are 4-5 min drive away), restaurants within walking distance, and friendly neighbors. Neighborhood has several children and everyone looks out for each other. "

"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for six years and the neighbors are very friendly. We are next to the green belt and within walking distance of the elementary, middle, high school and University. You couldn’t find a better location to live! This neighborhood is very accepting of college students and military members."
