5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school and it’s program should be decertified. 6th, 7th and 8th grade students are at a minimum of 3 years behind other schools in the State of NH. My 6th grader has had 0 (ZERO) homework assignments and my 8th grader had homework on probably 6 total days last year. Children’s curriculum is all over the place. Every quarter they are in new classes with material that isn’t even worthy to be taught. Some 6th graders can’t spell, some can’t add and some don’t even know the correct order of months in the year. Absolutely disgusting as are many of the children attending this school. Most are from mixed and broken homes and leads to the disruption of anyone trying to learn. Low income is reported as 35% on this web site. The poverty level in Somersworth is hovering around 70%. The only careers these children are being prepared for is McDonalds, Walmart or factory work. Plus, from what I’ve seen so far the high school is even worse. If you’re thinking of moving to Somersworth and have school aged children, all I can say is DON’T! Move to another school district or if you have to live here, send your kids to a private school. Once they’ve gotten to middle school they’re ruined academically and wouldn’t stand a chance moving to a 7th grade private school where they are finishing a 6th grade with 8-9 year old curriculum.Parent Review10mo ago - Maple Wood Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe love Maple Wood. The teachers and staff are caring, kind and supportive. Parent communication is solid, and our child understands what is expected of her. She's met wonderful friends and she loves the educators. I'd recommend this school 100%.Parent Review2y ago - Maple Wood Elementary School

"I moved here three years ago. I do like my neighborhood but the downtown area could really use a complete makeover. It needs a few more restaurants and boutique shops. "

"Dog owners would like that there are not too long- routes you can walk around somersworth, there is also a dog park in dover. People who dont own dogs would not like the barking in some neighborhoods and fireworks in somersworth that sometimes scares dogs at night. "
