The Graham after the 2023-24 school year is an entirely different school. Thanks to our principal Sebastian Benavidez, the culture, environment, academics, activities, expectations and overall vibe has improved 10 fold if not more. The school has done a 360. Teachers are Graham have always been dedicated, caring and focused. Now they have a leader who listens to them. The students have always been motivated, ambitious and intelligent. Now they have a structure, admin team and environment that expects and supports them to excel. Mr. Benavidez leads with a kind yet stern understanding that the rules will be followed. When they are not, he has created a way for students to learn and rectify their actions. His vice principals are equally strong and experienced. This admin team is solid all the way down to the front office awesome ladies. The school has a quiet yet social space called the Bear Den where kids can regroup, take a mental break and just chill. The sports teams are competitive and have more students that try out than can play. The theatre department is comprised of at least 2 teachers who have been here for more than 24 years. GMS TV has state of the art broadcasting equipment that provides news to students and staff every morning. The teacher who created GMS TV just retired after 30 years at Graham. The school has amazing cultural events that celebrate Diwali, Dia de Los Muertos and Lunar New Year. We have families speaking at least 15 different languages at home. Graham has been back since the 2024-25 and it is stronger than ever - improving every year. I can't wait to see what the following years will bring. Parent engagement can be much better. It is the usual 10% of the parents do all of the volunteering. This is something that needs to be improved.

My kids have been attending Landels for the last couple of years and I’m delighted to say that we have had such a positive experience with Landels School. As we experienced the teachers and staff are highly dedicated and incredibly caring. They create a nurturing environment for all the kids to foster their academic and personal growth. We found the curriculum well-balanced. This engaging curriculum has a good emphasis on academic growth (Math, writing, reading, ELD) which results in high test scores school-wide. Also, all classes, K-5, have extracurricular activities like STEAM, Art, and Music classes throughout the school year. Moreover, we observed that the Landels school system is fostering character development alongside academic growth which is crucial for creating well-rounded individuals.What we love the most is a strong sense of community in our school. As one engaging Mom, I truly can say that our school has a welcoming and nurturing place for all its students. With a number of events, meetings, playdates, and gatherings throughout the year all families come together frequently which has a big positive impact on our school community. This sense of belonging and shared experiences is essential not just for students but also for their families.
