The “RETREAT” is located in DICKEY MOUNTAIN ESTATES, a very desirable community located just west of Murphy North Carolina. With 3100 sq. ft. The “RETREAT” is a two level log sided home with a metal roof, and 2400 sq. ft. of wrap around porches, large open decking and stairs for outdoor living. The upper level is a split floor plan and consists of a large Master bedroom with walk-in closet, bath and bay window on one side to enjoy the Mountain View and a 12x14 tiled Oak kitchen and separate laundry room. A large vaulted Great Room central with a large stone fireplace, 12ft. sliding glass doors leading to a 8x46 ft porch on one end and entry and dining area on the other end. Two bedrooms and a bath occupy the other side of the home. A wraparound porch and deck surround the upper level. The lower level consists of a 12x17 room with a closet and bath with a Jacuzzi tub. This room is currently used as an artist studio but could be a bedroom or office. A second 10x14 room is currently a music room but could be easily converted to a kitchen. A third 10x17 room is currently used for entertainment. There is a separate lower level entrance foyer which also serves the adjoining garage and carport and the adjoining Bonus Building.
The 2 level 16x24 Bonus Building of 576 sq. ft. is currently used as a fully equipped wood working shop. It could easily serve as a Guest House as it is fully insulated and finished with sheet rock.
Some of the shop equipment, appliances and furniture may be negotiated.

    "vehicle is a must have commodity to get around when you live out of the town city limits. Unless you like to walk or ride a bike. They're are few other drawbacks as well. Communicating by cell phone is not very good around the countryside, lacking cell towers. This is a problem, even trying to get on the internet. Somedays are better than others but still we have poor reception. Other than that we have the beautiful outdoors. We can enjoy going to the national forest for hiking, camping, hunting, fishing or just driving around the back roads and enjoy scenery as well as wildlife. Living outside the city's limit might have it's drawbacks but you take the good and the bad as it comes and make the best of it."

    "Murphy, NC is a small community with all the basics (yes, including Walmart). There is a lot to do or you can relax and enjoy the beauty of the mountains. Winters are NOT harsh, however, you will need warm clothing. You can enjoy the wildlife from your back deck or walk the many trails throughout the county. Although Murphy will have a Casino come the Summer of 2015; it will have little impact on the quality of life."
