Description
This property is not currently for sale or for rent on Trulia. The description and property data below may have been provided by a third party, the homeowner or public records.
This is a stand-alone, one bedroom "shotgun" style house in downtown Tucson's Barrio Anita neighborhood. It sports its original, historic charm with many tasteful upgrades including a high efficiency (mini-split) A/C and heat system. It has high ceilings with hardwood and Saltillo tile floors. Upgraded electrical and lighting throughout. Newly remodeled kitchen includes new butcherblock counters/bar top/floating shelves and glass subway tile backsplash. Full size refrigerator and gas range/oven. Off-street parking, a private backyard, 10'x12' shed/workshop and FREE on-site laundry make this an excellent choice compared to typical apartment rentals in the downtown area. Barrio Anita is nestled just North of downtown (adjacent to Dunbar Spring and the El Presidio neighborhoods) within walking/biking distance to U of A, nightlife on 4th Ave and Congress, Mercado San Augustin and downtown government and office buildings. This unit is a one minute walk to Oury recreation center with fields, playground, covered basketball courts and the newly reopened Oury pool. You hear a lot about "historic living" in Tucson but how many can say that they live in an original adobe row house in Downtown Tucson? Please note, as with most downtown rentals, there is some noise from the train.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSadly, this school put my child with special needs in danger and then completely abandoned her. This was our home district and we were happy to get my children into what we thought was a kind and inclusive school community. The problem at Miles wasn't the teachers, they are caring and creative, the problem is poor resources and ineffective and inflexible administration. The district will try to get out of paying anything they can for students with special needs. I had a letter documenting my child's need for an aide from her developmental pediatrician and they had the data from the school showing she clearly needed 1:1 support but they still would not provide it due to the cost. When my 5 year old got away from her teacher who was in charge of a whole kindergarten class and ran into a busy street they finally recognized that she needed some aide support. That was several months into the year when she had already been endangered by their reckless policies. Then when school went to online only in March 2020 and my 6 year old child with special needs could not learn that way, admin just gave up and refused to educate her. They would not bring her in for tutoring or any services, nothing, even though her special ed teacher recognized that she could not learn online and wanted to teach her in person and felt she could do it safely, admin refused and completely abandoned her. The school has remained shuttered for an entire year now, 12 months, to students who desperately needed in person education, what a travesty, I feel terribly for any students stuck in TUSD who needed in person education and have list out on so much. I am so incredibly thankful we got our kids into CFSD, they are doing an excellent job educating all children safely even during a challenging year and are a much more welcoming and inclusive community!Parent Review3y ago - Safford K-8 School

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe administration of Safford speaks of equity. There is none. Students who do the same infractions do not receive the same consequences and this is known by all the students. A student walked into a classroom and shouted that he was going to beat the hell out of students in the class. The students he threatened were terrified. He was still on campus the following school day. Other students get in arguments and are suspended for multiple days.Teachers are not treated equitably. Some teachers are forced to follow strict policies and procedures and disciplined if they fail to do so while other teachers are allowed to not follow those policies and procedures with no consequences whatsoever. The administration of Safford speaks of students being safe and cared for. They are not safe. Students are jumped regularly in the hallways and beaten up severely. Several have gone to the hospital this year.Students with IEPs in middle school grades do not receive their services at this school and those who seek to correct this issue are threatened in order to silence them. The district leadership is aware of these issues and fully supports the administration.I do not recommend sending your children to this school.Parent Review2y ago - Tucson Magnet High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePeople may view this school as a bad school but it’s actually one of bests high schools in the district with rich history to this day , yes people may complain and may say it’s the worst school and put a bad name for it but I’m sorry to say this school is not gonna be the best for everyone entirely but it offers ranges of different studies classes and is known for the massive fine arts and best sciences in the district, the community of people here is really rich in diversity and people get along really well yes there’s been some incidents where people didn’t quite get along but keep in mind bad apples we everywhere not just here and this is a school of nearly 4000 students , if your quite extroverted and can be on task with the assignments then this school is just right for you , if you are quiet and a bit of a slow learner and don’t ask for help or take opportunities when given to you then this school probably is not the best fit for you , But In all means Tucson high Magnet School is family and I’ve grown really attached to the community here I love it so much . -junior class student.Student Review7mo ago - University High School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school sets you up well for the future with a great counseling department and effective teachers. Yes, there is a hefty workload, but this is communicated to incoming students before they enroll. It has a good environment and a helpful staff. If a student can stick with it and get through their freshman year, I can guarantee they will be successful through their high-school career and beyond.Other Review2y ago - Davis Bilingual Magnet School
