7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe weren't considering Farallone view initially because of state of the facilities and low scores, but what we have found is a pleasant surprise. A supportive community, active PTA, extraordinary teachers, and great learning environment. Sounds like we're renovating facilities soon as well. Happy with our decision to stick to our hometown school.Other Review10mo ago - Half Moon Bay High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school counselors appear to need improvement in effectively supporting students, as there have been instances where some interactions were perceived as less than helpful. This has led to students feeling a lack of support. While most teachers demonstrate excellence in their roles, there have been reported cases of certain tenured teachers displaying behavior that could be seen as impolite and biased, particularly in their interactions with male students. The administration's primary focus seems to be supporting sports teams, which may affect other areas. Moreover, there appears to be a recurring reduction in the availability of Advanced Placement (AP) classes within the curriculum. The school's trajectory is a matter of concern, leaving students and parents frustrated.Parent Review8mo ago - Manuel F. Cunha Intermediate School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school was very welcoming and allowed kids to be be themselves and practice. Whatever they want to do during class which allowed them to be smarter. It’s a very warm environment and kids are super nice most of them do not believe there’s only around one or two bullies at the school, their academics are very good. The teachers are strict, but not strict enough to where it hurts the kids feelings because of this most of the kids are very happy and communicate with their teacher as well alone them to learn the counselors are also great here they help kids whenever they’re struggling, especially during academics , all the reviews about bullies are completely false in my opinion people will help you if you are getting bullied. If you get called a bad name, they will tell the principal for you. Mr. Clifton is also a very nice principal and see if she knows all 700+ students my name , one of my children goes there and he seems to know him super well one day my child came home crying from school. I asked him was wrong. He said his phone broke after he landed on and we talk to the guidance counselor and they said they’ll By him a brand new phone this there is a very mixed culture that is very nice all these other schools I feel like are not as welcoming to our other cultures like Hispanics or African-Americans people say some teachers are too harsh on the kids, but I believe that this actually helps them because they get ready for high school which a lot of teachers are way more strict I had a very bad experience and secret so I decided to have my kid to get switched over to Cunha. I feel like Seacrest is way less welcome than Cunha’s and Sea crustys , my kid got bullied daily. He got shoved into a locker at one point the teachers and do anything about it. Overall the score of the 10 out of 10 and anyone else think I should switch outParent Review7mo ago - Check out schools near 512 5th St.

What Locals Say about Montara

"Montara is a jewel in the rough. It is a quiet and safe place to live. Most enjoyable is the sound of the ocean from my windows. At times, it is so loud it sounds like the waves are coming down the street. Just love that sound."

"We have trails to Montara Mountain right down the street. The beach is fairly dog friendly, compared to others in the area. There is a big dog community here on the coast so your pup will always have a friend to play with."

"More dogs than people, often see chickens crossing the road, neighbors on horses, quiet town of 2000 next to 6M and they don’t bother us."

"We are coming up on our third year in this neighborhood and we love it more and more as time goes on. It is a rural area, but the commute into SF is under an hour. We are surrounded by friendly people who really care about where they live. Kids (and there are lots of them) can freely play outside, the local school is good quality, and the weather is really lovely for a coastal location. I feel totally safe walking around the area though I would not leave a dog outside overnight due to animals coming out of the surrounding hills."

"Lived in Montara for a year. I love this place! I don't know enough about schools around here or about parks and rec. But- this really is a low crime reasonably priced residential are with lots of natural and, as of now, undeveloped areas. Lots of horses in the back of the town. Many very friendly people! Many, many dogs, mostly very well behaved. Lots of wildlife- coyotes, hawks, rabbits, snakes, raccoons - all of the usual suspects, and more. Many restaurants with a few being local. If you're willing to got to HMB or SF, there's any restaurant you can think of. Same thing for shopping. There's a one acre lot minimum requirement in the back of the valley - where the prices a little higher, but there's some great stuff back here! There's something here for almost everyone."
