Style, elegance, and room to grow! Stop looking at all those shoe boxes and come marvel at this loft-like 1,609 sqft 2 bed and 2.5 bath wonder in the heart of DUMBO. With 9.5' ceilings and generously proportioned rooms, you will feel like you can breath and relax in this home. A truly turnkey home, the owners (who bought directly from the sponsor and have been the only owners) took meticulous care to keep everything in pristine condition. With luxury finishes like herringbone white oak floors, custom millwork by Aster Cucine, La Rochelle Gris marble slab countertops, California Closet designed closets, and a suite of Gaggenau appliances, casement windows with custom automatic window treatments, central air, this is not your cookie cutter white box apartment.

Enter into the great room that expands across an open living, dining and kitchen area, perfect for entertaining on a Friday night. The impressive kitchen setup is not to be missed with a 13.5' breakfast bar, full Gaggenau appliance package including double French door refrigerator, wine cooler, dishwasher, 6 burner cooktop and wall oven, and vented hood. Custom millwork by Aster Cucine was done for all the cabinetry in the kitchen as well as Gris marble countertops. Off the entry is the laundry closet with stacked Bosch ventless washer and dryer.

Down the hallway you'll find the 2 oversized bedrooms plus a powder room. The second bedroom has plenty of room for a queen, or twins, or a crib and extra furniture. and it has an en-suite bathroom with soaking tub. The generously sized primary bedroom is located at the end of the hallway, complete with full walk in closet, and a primary bath that would make anyone jealous. Separate standing shower, deep soaking tub and double sinks finished in marble and custom ceramic tiling.

Designed by acclaimed firm ODA, 51 Jay St was a thoughtfully designed condominium that strived to retain the old industrial feel of the DUMBO's past while melding with a contemporary art deco feel to bring it to the present. Amenities include 24-hour concierge, fitness and yoga room, children's playroom, residents' lounge, rooftop terrace, and a landscaped central courtyard by Steven Yavanian. Conveniently located 2 blocks from the F at York, and a short walk to the A/C at High Street, as well as the ferry to Wall Street. Enjoy having Brooklyn Bridge Park at your doorstep and all the trendy retail and eateries that line the waterfront of DUMBO.

"I’ve lived in DUMBO/Vinegar Hill for 1 year. It’s my favorite neighborhood in Brooklyn. If you have young kids there are a lot of options for areas for them to play both indoors and outdoors. In the last year there has been an abundance of restaurants and shops opened. It’s a great community."

"Great urban area with waterfront, shopping, and the arts. Very walkable. But a $19,000,000 penthouse doesn't belong here. Anyone with that money is looking to buy in Manhattan."

  • hgintis
"I go out every morning and get a bagel and New York Times. There is a tailor, a hardware store, five small/medium markets, and several restaurants within two block. Pedro's, a Mexican/Latino place right near us serves great food. The Dumbo Kitchen has healthy fare (and tempting pastries). I often sit there all afternoon working. The F train is half a block away."
