Omg where do I start, first of all they continuously pressure you to put your child on medication like Adderall and Ritalin at the age of six simply because they will not sit still for 8 hours. Then you reach out to them and say that you're handicap and it is extremely difficult for you to get your children back and forth to school without transportation so what do they do they say they can't help you and they ask you to pick up another kid and take them home on your way. Then because you're handicap and not able to get your kids to school like you told them they hit you with truancy even though you sent in doctor's excuses. This school is very predatory against parents they do not care what you have to say they do not listen to any of your concerns or needs you are the bad guy and you always will be in their eyes. Ever since my kids have started going here it has been a nightmare "DO NOT ENROLL YOUR KIDS AT CONCORD ELEMENTARY IT WILL BE ONE OF THE BIGGEST MISTAKES THAT YOU HAVE MADE."

This is a review from someone who is not from the area. We relocated to Pittsburgh a year and a half ago so we we're not familiar with the area or the schools around us, and I always take reviews with a grain of salt. We are on the border between Brentwood & Carrick and were unsure what school my daughter would end up at, but lets be honest, we were hoping for Brentwood because.. reviews. Hate to say that but like I said, I didn't have any understanding of the area all that much and the move happened fast. But my daughter is now in her second year and it's really unfortunate that this school gets so much hate because coming in from a whole different state was stressful enough for her but there's been nothing but good support for her from admin and her classmates. I'm not familiar with anything going on there that would warrant such a bad review. My wife is more active with her activities than I but no red flags have ever come up. Her grades are consistently well, and there's been more than enough opportunities for her to get more help when she needed it. We're always in the know about what's going on.. sometimes a little TOO much with the emails but I think that's a minor nuisance and not even that big of a deal.I hope parents will do their homework when it comes to their kids education. It's easy to rely on a few bad reviews or get fixated on external things. I'll leave my review up until something changes.

Highly motivated staff. Excellent connections to the wider community with mentoring and after-school programs. Peaceful, positive environment.

The school has excellent leadership & teaching staff. I've seen a great deal of improvement in my son's reading ability plus the have a solid instrumental program. The school principal is by far the best I've seen in the two districts my son has attended

If I could give zero stars I would. This school was a living nightmare for me. The teachers didn’t care unless you were a problem child. I got bullied so bad and everyone turned a blind eye. I had books and other objects thrown at me almost daily by other children in my classroom and the teachers didn’t care. They didn’t do or say anything to stop it. I couldn’t focus, I couldn’t learn the classrooms and hallways were pure caous! I’m going through severe depression with constant anxiety and stress over what I had to go through being in this school for just one year. My 6th grade year was like horror movie! I cry just thinking of anyone else ever having to experience the bullying and the suffering I endured. Don’t send your children here, they are not safe. Psychically or mentally and the adults DO NOT CARE! They are more worried about you taking your phone into the classroom then they are about your safety or teaching!

This school is phenomenal. We are so fortunate to go here. Our daughter loves school, has made wonderful friends. From the first week the teachers all seem to know every child by name. Students are greeted each morning with an all-school assembly with drumming, singing, a welcome message by the Principal, and the school rock band rocking out. Its a fantastic way to start the day! There are tons of field trips, lots of art and music incorporated into each day. We love it here!

Excellent school, great service, for anyone looking to settle down in the highland park area
