Description

Rarely does a Cayuga Lake property combine year-round living, easy access, and future potential. Conveniently located just minutes from downtown Ithaca and moments from the Ithaca Yacht Club and Glenwood Pines, this unique waterfront retreat offers a setting that feels worlds away while remaining close to everything.

The approach alone sets this property apart. Maplewood Point, a private road shared by just six neighboring properties, offers a remarkably gentle drive compared to many lakefront homes. Cross a picturesque brook and waterfall, follow the quiet lane, and arrive at a level lakeside setting where you can drive directly to your home, park with ease, and enjoy stepless access to both the house and waterfront. The small waterfront community offers a rare combination of privacy, convenience, and neighborly charm.

Designed for year-round enjoyment, the home features warm natural woodwork, hardwood floors, a new roof completed in 2026, an on-demand boiler, and expansive lake views throughout. The flexible floor plan includes three bedrooms plus an office, including a spacious primary bedroom with panoramic views of Cayuga Lake. A full bath serves the upper level, while a half bath is located off the kitchen. The mudroom combines laundry and utility space.

The inviting living spaces are designed to maximize the waterfront setting, with a gas fireplace and a three-season porch overlooking the lake, perfect for morning coffee, summer evenings, or simply taking in the view.

Outside, approximately 63 feet of Cayuga Lake frontage is complemented by a large dock and boat lift, providing exceptional access for boating, swimming, fishing, and enjoying life on the water. The property's unique configuration spans from Maplewood Point to Maplewood Road, creating opportunities for additional access, parking, future expansion, or accessory dwellings, subject to approvals.

Whether you're seeking a year-round residence, a waterfront getaway, or a property with long-term potential, this exceptional offering presents a rare opportunity to enjoy the best of Cayuga Lake living. Appointment-only access, first time on the market since 1939.
We estimate this home will sell faster than 88% nearby.

"Lots of inebriated college students driving short distances around the neighborhoods when they shouldn’t be and overly intoxicated walking by houses shouting/ overly rowdy at all times of the night & early morning."
  • Trulia User
"Dog friendly and family friendly. Close to Northeast Elementary and Dewitt Middle school - I used to walk to school as a kid growing up there. Safe"
  • Trulia User
"Lots of college students partying (loud music, public drinking/intoxication, recreational drug use, etc..)."
  • Trulia User
"I have been living in Cayuga heights for 4 years, love it absolutely. Feel sad to leave such a quiet and beautiful place."
  • Samara G.
"They would like the dog park mostly the skateboard park and the only thing they wouldn’t like is some landlords expect dog deposits and some don’t allow dogs, whether working dog or not."
  • Vanessa H. B.
"I walk to my office, which is around the corner from where I live. I love it! There is public transport, which I would feel good about using if I moved. "
  • Tristan H.
"Public transportation is readily available and accessible by all who live in Cayuga Heights. TCAT busses run very often and go in all directions."
  • Lj279
"It is hard to live here and depend on public transportation. You must have a car for groceries and emergencies. There is no biking path or good side walks. "
  • Mnichols
"I have lived on south hill for 25 years in 2 different homes. It is close to downtown and state park, I can walk to ithaca college and buttermilk falls park in 10 min each."

"Views, street lights and nature trail. Traffic can get a bit fast, but the road is safe. New bike paths across the bridge are interesting "
  • Paul
"It is a very easy commute to downtown. Slightly more to the colleges. I consider commutes under 15 minutes to be easy though. I know Ithacans complain about traffic at the “octopus”, but that’s only because most of them have never seen traffic."
  • David W.
"Amazing location! I walk 10 blocks to work. Gimme Coffee is on the way. Historic Northside Triangle is the place to be!"
  • Dani932
"The apartments aren't upgraded for the amount you pay on a one-bedroom. The area is quiet and l haven't had any issues living here."
  • Ronald B.
"Semi-rural atmosphere. Lots of walking paths and hiking trails in the area. Our area of Dryden is in the Ithaca School District, whisky is very good."
  • Trulia User
"Beautiful, nice view. The community is looking forward to sidewalks that will help the area become more navigating. The community is nice but not as inviting as some may like."
  • Latoya Peterson
"Landlords don’t except Section 8 assistants. Good luck getting your security deposit back!?! Slum lords own most property here unfortunately."
  • Trulia User
"Access to public transportation a plus. They need to work on installing shoulders on west king road. Commuting is easy"
  • Paul
"I've lived in the area for 13 years. I've lived in Northeast Ithaca specifically for 5 years. Northeast Ithaca is very competitive as far as buying a home. The people are great and Northeast Elementary including the Ithaca City School District is beyond amazing. Northeast Ithaca is close to Cornell University. There are many reasons why homes in in Northeast Ithaca are in high demand."
  • Littlespoon1970
"I have lived here for three years and I feel safe in this neighborhood. People are friendly and it’s in walking distance to the commons and my work at Ithaca High School."
