"Toluca Lake is a village. Residents can walk to buy their groceries, shop for gifts or or grab coffee with friends. The village makes it easier to meet people. We have great restaurants too. Halloween is a very big deal here. Houses are so beautifully decorated, trick or treaters come from other communities just to enjoy the spectacle. We have an annual Turkey Trot at Thanksgiving, a Christmas Open House and a Christmas Eve truck full of carolers. And there really is a lake in Toluca Lake. It’s just takes a little maneuvering to catch a glimpse of it."
  • Vikram Anand
"Good dog walking neighborhood. Plenty of sidewalks and other friends dogs and dog owners. People pick up after themselves."
  • Vikram Anand
"V centrally located. Close to so many freeways. Close to bus and metro/underground lines. V well situated. "
  • l a.
"Very accessible to other parts of the city. Family friendly, great "downtown" area of small business shops/bars/restarants."
  • Trulia User
"Many nice areas to walk your dog. Sidewalks clean. Neighbors are friendly as long as you clean up after your dog "
  • Trulia User
"There’s a lot of nice food places to eat. A lot of cool little local shops to visit. I havent gotten a chance to see the parks around here, but the area is well kept so I’m assuming that the parks would be too"
  • Justin L.
"Lots of people walk their dogs around all the time. Many people have dogs in the neighborhood. There is even a dog park nearby."
  • Alden H.
"Halloween trick or treat festivities all throughout the city. As well as Christmas time. It’s amazing!"
  • Claudia
"Quiet, nice, and clean! Low crime rate. Beautiful scenery and friendly people! Can go for a walk and feel safe even at night time. Great restaurants, and convenient stores. Love shopping at Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods! Lived here almost all my life. Wouldn’t see myself moving anywhere else anytime soon!"
  • Thehealey2106
"Great neighborhood but schools are a challenge for young ones. Great restaurants nearby. Excellent access to freeways. "
  • Marisa R.
"Very neighbor friendly - Halloween is super popular. "
  • Resident
"My neighborhood is one of the best in LA Trader Joe’s and great restaurants in walking distance plus close to everywhere you want to go"
  • Joe
"Great neighborhood great neighbors and awesome at Halloween thousands of kids and everyone decorated and gets into the season"
  • Nwood_2
"Strong sense of community. People are friendly. Feels like a small town, but you are in the middle of a big city. Homes and properties are beautifully maintained. Cute little Main Street area. Lots of nice restaurants. Close to the studios. "
  • Aoibheann C.
"A very nice place to live! TL is like a small town it is very walkable & people are generally friendly."
  • Jacquigrilli
"Beautiful area, lots of coffee shops, restaurants, etc. In a good school district. Walking distance to a beautiful park with a playground. "
  • Anna A.
"My commute is short. I am freelance and work all over. Toluca lake is central which is nice. It has easy access to highways "
  • Nrk7878
"It’s quiet but also very close to restaurants and everything you need ( I.e markets, kinkos, USPS, hair salons). All within walking distance. Also close to the 134 and 101 freeways. "
  • Anna M.
"This neighborhood located right next to world most famous movie production studios . It has a lot of character , you can see beautiful mountains and there is a cute little lake"
  • Jon M.
"Live and work here. Moved here from Hancock Park. Can't think of moving elsewhere. Try to avoid the West side, too much traffic, short tempered drivers, and no where to park. Shopping, driving, etc. are a huge hassle. Here in Toluca Lake close to Vons, Ralphs, Gelsons etc. It has been called the Beverly Hills of the Valley, but B.H. has the same overcrowding, traffic, haughty folks as L.A. People that have lived in Toluca Lake end up buying another home in Toluca Lake, that's because it's a really great place to live!"
  • Linda Z.
"Close to the NoHo Arts District and public transporation. Easy access to Studio City, freeways, studios & Burbank. Great area for dog walking."
