Early American home located in southern New Milford (only .2 miles from Bridgewater Line) in Litchfield Country. A straight drive along scenic Route 133 from Brookfield through the center of Bridgewater, Connecticut. Mostly level lot which faces the morning sun with private back yard of mature trees. Front entrance of the home faces west along Old Ridge Road. This antique colonial home is one of the original homes in the Meadowbrook section of town. The original home had a detached barn which was later connected with an addition; part of the barn was converted to what is currently used as the family room. A classic central chimney has open fireplaces in two of the three main floor rooms. Original to house is Chestnut Wide Board flooring. A coal burning stove in the current family room has a separate chimney. There are doorways to the exterior of the home on each side of the house. Original stone walkways and back patio were locally quarried. Previous Owner was an avid gardener. The first floor offers a kitchen, dining and formal livingroom. An adjoining den is located between the kitchen and current 3 bay garage area. The additional second floor space above den and garage offers walk up space which was previously used as a workshop. The Second floor offers a main sitting area which adjoins each of the three bedrooms; as well as walk up stairway access to the 3rd floor attic space. Full basement (poured concrete) has interior and exterior access.
