Description

A bedroom in a great Capitol Hill rowhouse near Union Station is available now, but you can start any time between now and as May 1. It has three nice north-facing windows and a closet. The room is medium-small about 11 feet by 12 feet including closet so there is room for a queen bed, desk, and dresser. Lease goes through May 31 with option to renew. The sit-stand desk, shelves, and/or bed shown in the photos can be purchased for a reasonable price, but you don't have to if you have your own furniture. Off street parking available for additional rent. Alternatively, street parking is easy to find.

It is in a typical Capitol Hill row house with updated kitchen, granite counter tops. We used to call it be Skylab because it has an airlock, but now it is the Bat Cave. The kitchen and 2 living rooms are furnished. 1.5 bathrooms, shared. Washer and dryer. In back is a small deck complete with gas grill, table, and chairs. Brand new (as of summer 2024) central heat and A/C.

It's a 5-minute walk to Union Station for easy Red Line metro access, and a 10-minute walk to the Capitol.

It's located a couple doors down from a neighborhood Italian restaurant and across the street from the great wine shop, Schneiders. A small grocery and Union Pub are within a block, as well as many different restaurants on Mass Ave. Giant supermarket is an easy 4 block walk north.

The house is a 3-bedroom, so the house is shared with 2 other housemates. Rent is $1190 per month not including utilities, which average about $180 per person. $1200 security deposit. Cats may be allowed for extra deposit.

Roommates. We are both men, one late 20s and one early 40s. A federal employee from Rhode Island and law student from Georgia. We like to hang out together in the common areas and we have frequent board game nights with each other and with guests. One of us has an improv practice at the house once a week. Neither of us are partiers; we both prefer a quiet house most of the time, especially at night.

You: Responsible, clean, respectful, friendly. Any gender. No smokers. Mid-late 20s or older preferred. Pets may be allowed with extra fees (we don't have any currently). Please email with details about yourself. We look forward to meeting you!

Lease goes through May 31st with option to sign onto new lease. You can generally leave in the middle of the lease if we can find a replacement.
