"Very dog friendly! Dogs are also well trained for the most part. People mostly pick up the dog waste."
  • Trulia User
"Small neighborhood vibe in a down town area is hard to beat. The price is premium but it is one of the nicer neighborhoods in the Salt Lake area "
  • Trulia User
"I like the park, and unlike because is a pretty quiet neighborhood. People needs to be a little more respectful in the stop sign "
  • Jess.lee758
"Local arts shows throughout the greater avenues featuring artists. There are also different farmers who will come to the neighborhood and sell fresh fruit in the summertime. "
  • Helen C.
"Great dog neighborhood - everyone is great picking up after their furry friends!!! Great trails off of hillside drive"
  • Jess.lee758
"It’s a very dog friendly area but sometimes people will take a walk in the neighborhood without a leash. This can cause problems with dogs who may be on a leash."
  • Crystal L.
"The avenues street fair is awesome, held in the late spring/early summer. Local businesses all come out; you can buy used records, handmaid belts, plants, jewelry, etc. "
  • Dayton W.
"I’ve loved living in the avenues. It’s quiet, low traffic and everything is a brisk walk or quick drive away. Groceries, liquor store, gas, parks, cemetery. It has it all. "
  • Cmariereynolds
"Easy bus stops. Fast Uber/Lyft with only 5-10 min wait at the most & trax stations are very close. Very easy to commute here. "
  • Kimberly C.
"Lots of parks and other dogs all over the place. So much you can do with them! There are a lot of dog friendly places around here. "
  • Fatima A. K.
"Close to parks to walk your dog either at the elementary school or memory grove. Some people don’t pick up after their dogs which isn’t great. Don’t be that person. "
  • Tarek666511
"It’s Great in Almost Everything I Love it Safe And Quiet And Lovely And The View is Breathtaking And The Streets so Clean ❤️Love it "
  • Kitty L.
"Not a lot of kids in the neighborhood but college students and med professionals. Very quiet in the day time because neighbors are working. It is safe to walk around and many with dogs. There is a supermarket in the neighborhood so you don’t have to go far to get food and also a good restaurant just around the corner. "
  • Alena.linton
"Very friendly neighborhood, a lot of people own dogs. I love that there are grocery stores, gas stations, liquor store, nail and hair salons and a lot of other random businesses within walking distance in the neighborhood. "
  • Gingerfieldgirl
"Very dog friendly! Great dog park called Lindsey Gardens. There’s always people out walking their dogs."
  • Gingerfieldgirl
"Dog owners love it here! Very dog friendly. You always see someone walking their dogs. There is a great dog park in the Aves as well, Lindsey Gardens. "
  • Jovianbatchelor
"It’s a very safe neighborhood to raise children in! The neighborhood is beautiful and there’s multiple families living here safely. If I had a family I personally wouldn’t want to live anywhere in between A through E street on first avenue. It’s just a bunch of party kids that are in college. Everywhere else is a family friendly community. "
  • Timmikazai
"It’s very close to memory grove and other parks. Also nice to be close to the LDS hospital and hatches chocolates."
  • Jovianbatchelor
"I gave up on driving my car because it’s more of a hassle to find parking than it is to walk. I live on 1st Avenue and A street. There is no room for tenants park their cars even on the streets. I’m constantly getting tickets because my house is in the area 5 parking. "
  • Sarsranger
"Quiet neighborhood and close to many things within walking distance. Plenty of dogs and dog park is in the area as are other parks. I enjoy this area and would recommend to anyone looking for a place to live. "
  • Geoffkahler
"I love the Aves. Quick access to the foothills. Friendly people. 11th Ave is great for Running and bike riding. "
  • teamjonz
"This is a fantastic neighborhood for families, with strong community-and church- based activities for those who live here. If you are bringing children, we welcome you to the Upper Avenues!"

"The upper aves area is fantastic. It's surrounded by doctors, judges, accountants, members of the symphony, and altogether interesting people. The Northcrest swimming pool is an excellent community center, and the neighborhood puts on fun activities and mixers several times a year."
