Students roam the halls, there are very little suspensions and expulsions even after fights. The principal will scream at students in the hallways. When they act like they care they talk to you, promise they will get back with you and that's the last you hear from them. The people at the Administration building are the same way; left multiple messages with no return call at all. The Principal talks down to your child and puts them down, as of she (assistant principal) is superior to them, she is a Joke, sjr doesn't know how to communicate with an adult, as we tried to have a conversation and she kept hanging up on me, but apologized when I went in person. I couldn’t believe that a school with issues like bullying, death threats, and threats of weapons is still allowed to operate without action being taken to solve those things. Monterey operates without seeing any consequences for failing our children. My child needed therapy and is now able to learn in a better environment. Avoid this school if you can! "We live in a cup de sac made of townhouses. There’s a park and a lot of kids play there which is nice. But there’s a lot of abandoned cars, drug dealing, and old furniture dumped everywhere. "
