About this House

OFFER DEADLINE TUES 01/23 @ NOON 2-year old renovation of a federal-style rowhome shaded by a blossoming cherry tree. The main level welcomes you with a full run of exposed brick, a plethora of built-ins and wire-brushed white oak floors. Passing by a convenient powder room you will find an expansive dining space that offers room for hosting large dinner parties. There is a windowed den that can be closed off via glass barn doors providing the perfect work from home space. The first floor is rounded off with a midnight blue kitchen that is simply the chef's kiss. Top of the line appliances including a paneled Bosch dishwasher, counter depth 4-door refrigerator, 36" professional gas range, stainless vent hood and a sleek drawer microwave compliment a 9' quartz waterfall island. Ascending the stairs with a double height exposed brick wall and stained glass skylight, you will find a king-sized ensuite primary bedroom. The large format porcelain tile in the shower and radiant heat under your feet compliment the gracious walk-in closet. The rest of the level is home to an LG washtower (laundry game-changer), a large linen closet, 2 generous-sized bedrooms, a hall bath (also with radiant heat floors) and an East-facing screened porch. The lower level is a fully contained in-law suite with a separate kitchen featuring a gas range, stainless dishwasher, granite countertops, and a second oversized washer dryer setup. The full bath has a large walk-in shower and a separate mini split allows for independent conditioning of the space. Built-ins abound with over 17' of storage for seasonal wear and beyond. For peace of mind on the exterior, a 30-year TPO roof and solar panels were installed over the first 2 weeks of the year. A 1 year old roller door with custom mural by DC artist Kelly Towles encloses 2 off-street concrete paver parking spaces serviced by a 40-amp level 2 EV charger. This turnkey residence is a stone's throw from MedStar Health/Children's National and across the street from the upcoming Reservoir District. This 25-acre development will feature a rec center and 6 acre park (Spring '24 delivery), 150+ EYA townhomes, 500+ apartments over retail with eldercare options and a large-format grocer (cough cough Harris Teeter). With a top-to-bottom renovation and near-term access to a slew of amenities, do not miss your opportunity to call this stately property "home".

  • dkdauphinais
"With Rhode Island Ave NE to the south and Catholic University to the north, Edgewood is a quiet family-oriented neighborhood of row houses and friendly neighbors. I've lived here for 9 years and have seen the natural changes of older, long-time residents giving way to a new generation of home owners. We still have a good mix of older folks with young families, single professionals and students. There's a lot of development happening around the Rhode Island Ave. Metro Station, Home Depot and Giant. Chancellor's Row just off 4th Street NE has new townhouses. There are still some rough edges, but the neighborhood is changing every day!"
  • wtersch
"I've lived in Edgewood for a year and half and am glad I moved to the neighborhood. Folks take pride in the community and are friendly and welcoming. There is a very active Edgewood listserv (Yahoo group), plus an Edgewood Civic Association. The first Saturday of each month, I help with a neighborhood cleanup. Many other neighbors come out and help remove litter and keep the area looking nice, then we enjoy a friendly and free hot dog lunch. Proximity to the new Metropolitan Branch Trail for biking and running is a big plus; the trail leads to the Capitol, which is only 2.5 miles south of Edgewood. In terms of transport, the Rhode Island Station development at the Metro station is adding new businesses and residents to this Metro-friendly area, plus there are frequent buses along Rhode Island Avenue. I like living in Edgewood -- close to everything, yet, for now, relatively affordable -- and am definitely sticking around."
