Description

Nestled within a small enclave of homes ripe with history & character, & on a less traveled tree lined cul-de-sac steps to all that Bloomingdale & Historic McMillan’s newly built Reservoir District has to offer. Pairing all the modern amenities you are looking for while retaining the rich history & charm of a traditional DC Wardman, welcome to this simply stunning single family residence at 10 Bryant St NE!
Located within the Stronghold section of the city directly adjacent to Bloomingdale, this small vibrant community offers a central DC location making commuting a snap, with the walkability to all that the more busy central Bloomingdale area has to offer. This short block of carefully curated homes & thoughtful neighbors sees little to no foot traffic on this eastern side of North Capitol (the benefits of which within this type of urban setting speak for themselves these days..). As you walk up to the home, the welcoming front porch leads into a gracious open concept main level. From the built-in’s & curated lighting in the living room, to the gleaming hardwood floors, this end unit home really shines from both the updates & the wonderful light level. The gourmet kitchen features high end stainless steel appliances, dark granite counters, custom cabinets, & a gas range. You’ll also note the designer wallpaper selections in both the powder room and the bar nook adding a touch of fun and a tasteful accent! As you head towards the rear of the main level you’ll note the newly tiled rear pantry porch & mudroom which features storage for days as well as a second refrigerator & freezer for easy entertaining as you head out back.
The backyard of the property is truly something to behold! From the detailed hardscaping to the combination of year round turf meeting natural plantings, the current owners were truly the envy of all their friends (& also the frequent hosts;-) It’s rare to find a yard of this size in this central a city location, & while the more common place rooftop decks can be grand, being on a rooftop in DC in August is never a real practical option;-) & speaking of practicality.. the outside space also offers a parking pad for up to 4 cars secured with your own garage door!
Inside & upstairs in the property you’ll find three well proportioned bedrooms, each exquisitely accented with further designer finishes & offering functional closet space. The primary suite boasts an enormous walk-in closet renovation of the former sleeping porch complete with loads of built-ins & a dressing/makeup desk. The upstairs seamlessly melds traditional original details such as the transom door windows with newer elements like the curated lighting selections & door hardware. But the real standout of this level is the recently renovated white marble & gold fixture accented bath complete with a walk-in shower, a freestanding soaking tub, as well as an automatic Toto Washlet commode with a heated seat & bidet.
The homes fully finished lower level also does not disappoint, & provides an additional full bedroom & bath, as well as a lower level family room complete with a media area as well as an electric fireplace. With additional storage, access to the rear yard, & a separate area to house the homes mechanicals, the lower level provides a functional flex space or simply a natural extension to your day to day living. Other highlights of this well kept home include a replaced & expanded HVAC system in 2020, a recent painting refresh, updated lighting & controls, a roof that has been resealed every few years (most recently in January of 2025), new Aperture carpet in the primary walk-in, updated windows, recent exterior repointing, the list goes on.. & all this just a stones throw to neighborhood favorites like The Red Hen & Boundary Stone, Bloomingdale Farmers Market, Reservoir Park Rec & Aquatic Center, as well as the beautiful Reservoir/McMillan Campus with more on the horizon! Come see for yourself today!

  • dkdauphinais
"With Rhode Island Ave NE to the south and Catholic University to the north, Edgewood is a quiet family-oriented neighborhood of row houses and friendly neighbors. I've lived here for 9 years and have seen the natural changes of older, long-time residents giving way to a new generation of home owners. We still have a good mix of older folks with young families, single professionals and students. There's a lot of development happening around the Rhode Island Ave. Metro Station, Home Depot and Giant. Chancellor's Row just off 4th Street NE has new townhouses. There are still some rough edges, but the neighborhood is changing every day!"
  • wtersch
"I've lived in Edgewood for a year and half and am glad I moved to the neighborhood. Folks take pride in the community and are friendly and welcoming. There is a very active Edgewood listserv (Yahoo group), plus an Edgewood Civic Association. The first Saturday of each month, I help with a neighborhood cleanup. Many other neighbors come out and help remove litter and keep the area looking nice, then we enjoy a friendly and free hot dog lunch. Proximity to the new Metropolitan Branch Trail for biking and running is a big plus; the trail leads to the Capitol, which is only 2.5 miles south of Edgewood. In terms of transport, the Rhode Island Station development at the Metro station is adding new businesses and residents to this Metro-friendly area, plus there are frequent buses along Rhode Island Avenue. I like living in Edgewood -- close to everything, yet, for now, relatively affordable -- and am definitely sticking around."
