6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhile I was in doubt the first few years whether the dual immersion would work and my kids would learn Spanish (I am an ESL myself and my standards on acquiring language are very high), my doubts disappeared when my older kid gave a speech at her 5th grade promotion. She wrote it herself, she got up there and spoke in front of all the parents and teachers and she was amazing. Having other parents and educators, who are fully fluent in Spanish, congratulate us on her amazing language skills was a testament to this program's truly working. She frequently presents in Spanish, her comprehension is incredible, and her vocabulary as well. I am impressed! Also, don't be fooled by the overall rating- this is a truly mixed school, many students are just learning English which means that they can't test as high as English speakers. My daughter has been constantly exceeding state testing (CAASPP, CAST, LEXQUAN) - in all areas.I wish our school had more funding, but this is a district/ state/ federal issue. 3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI love this school, just came there and Im an freshman. Rgeardless people are going to say this is a bad school. IT IS NOT. They are very welcoming and nice. They have JROCT, cooking, Public speaking or Debate team/class and more. MUptiple luages classes like French, Spanish and Mandorian chinnise. Tons of sports Football, basketball, tenniss and volleyball track too! The techers are pretty nice they tey to help out as much as they can just ask them. The food her is AWSOME. Valley View has the BEST middle school music program in MDUSD. (Thank you , Mrs. Nesmith!) The accelerated math program really prepares the students for the next level and the parent involvement allows for so many extras for the kids. We love our school community!
