6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDryden is an inclusive environment. Teachers and administration make a concerted effort to reach out to parents and engage with them as partners for student learning. I've always been informed of my student's progress, achievements and challenges. Dryden hosts several advanced placement courses (AP) that develop responsible study habits and accelerated course work. There are a plethora of after school activities and clubs that students can participate in and a late bus to support these without increasing a parent's driving time.Parent Review3y ago3 Reviews - Dryden Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy first-grader is currently a student at Dryden, and I can't believe what a difference the year between K & 1st has made. Last year she had a SPECTACULAR teacher (who had been there for 36 years) who was communicative and helpful, and kept our daughter challenged and interested in school. Our daughter rarely got in trouble. This year? Her teacher can't be bothered to communicate, and we've had an incredibly difficult time getting responses from the administration as well. I am incredibly frustrated.Parent Review15y ago1 Reviews - Freeville Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLove this school and the entire community around it. For the age of kids that attend, it's small, intimate nature makes it that all teachers and staff know everyone in the school and watch out for everyone. Its hard to imagine a school that is more welcoming and provide as much personal attention as this one does. Unfortunately due to its size, they do not have any special ed, so for that you would need to go to the main elementary school.Parent Review3y ago4 Reviews - Check out schools near 26 Barr Rd.

"It is hard to live here and depend on public transportation. You must have a car for groceries and emergencies. There is no biking path or good side walks. "

"It is a very easy commute to downtown. Slightly more to the colleges. I consider commutes under 15 minutes to be easy though. I know Ithacans complain about traffic at the “octopus”, but that’s only because most of them have never seen traffic."

"I've lived in the area for 13 years. I've lived in Northeast Ithaca specifically for 5 years. Northeast Ithaca is very competitive as far as buying a home. The people are great and Northeast Elementary including the Ithaca City School District is beyond amazing. Northeast Ithaca is close to Cornell University. There are many reasons why homes in in Northeast Ithaca are in high demand."

"There are two parks in a three block area. Level walking throughout the neighborhood. It would be nice however for the city to make the parks more dog friendly and put up waste containers for doggy poop bags. "
