Description

The Dean puts you in the heart of downtown Ithaca, surrounded by a vibrant and walkable urban setting where daily errands, dining, and local favorites are close by. This boutique-level gem is an adaptive reuse of a 1924 mushroom column warehouse, elevating its industrial shell through the infusion of art deco motifs and exquisite finishes.

Choose from one- and two-bedroom floor plan options, with layouts designed for comfortable city living and flexible work-from-home routines. Inside each apartment you will find modern features including a in-unit washer and dryer, dishwasher, A/C unit, stainless steel refrigerator, and Italian ceramic tile spacious bathroom.

Step outside your front door and you can relax or play a game of pool at The Solveig or get a workout in at the 24-hour fitness center. You'll also have secure bike storage and a rooftop lounge when you want fresh air and a change of scenery. If you have a dog, the dog wash is a real plus after rainy or muddy walks, and a nearby path leads toward Six Mile Creek for easy outdoor time.

"Lots of inebriated college students driving short distances around the neighborhoods when they shouldn’t be and overly intoxicated walking by houses shouting/ overly rowdy at all times of the night & early morning."
  • Trulia User
"Dog friendly and family friendly. Close to Northeast Elementary and Dewitt Middle school - I used to walk to school as a kid growing up there. Safe"
  • Trulia User
"Lots of college students partying (loud music, public drinking/intoxication, recreational drug use, etc..)."
  • Trulia User
"I have been living in Cayuga heights for 4 years, love it absolutely. Feel sad to leave such a quiet and beautiful place."
  • Samara G.
"They would like the dog park mostly the skateboard park and the only thing they wouldn’t like is some landlords expect dog deposits and some don’t allow dogs, whether working dog or not."
  • Vanessa H. B.
"I walk to my office, which is around the corner from where I live. I love it! There is public transport, which I would feel good about using if I moved. "
  • Tristan H.
"Public transportation is readily available and accessible by all who live in Cayuga Heights. TCAT busses run very often and go in all directions."
  • Lj279
"It is hard to live here and depend on public transportation. You must have a car for groceries and emergencies. There is no biking path or good side walks. "
  • Mnichols
"I have lived on south hill for 25 years in 2 different homes. It is close to downtown and state park, I can walk to ithaca college and buttermilk falls park in 10 min each."

"Views, street lights and nature trail. Traffic can get a bit fast, but the road is safe. New bike paths across the bridge are interesting "
  • Paul
"It is a very easy commute to downtown. Slightly more to the colleges. I consider commutes under 15 minutes to be easy though. I know Ithacans complain about traffic at the “octopus”, but that’s only because most of them have never seen traffic."
  • David W.
"Amazing location! I walk 10 blocks to work. Gimme Coffee is on the way. Historic Northside Triangle is the place to be!"
  • Dani932
"The apartments aren't upgraded for the amount you pay on a one-bedroom. The area is quiet and l haven't had any issues living here."
  • Ronald B.
"Semi-rural atmosphere. Lots of walking paths and hiking trails in the area. Our area of Dryden is in the Ithaca School District, whisky is very good."
  • Trulia User
"Beautiful, nice view. The community is looking forward to sidewalks that will help the area become more navigating. The community is nice but not as inviting as some may like."
  • Latoya Peterson
"Landlords don’t except Section 8 assistants. Good luck getting your security deposit back!?! Slum lords own most property here unfortunately."
  • Trulia User
"Access to public transportation a plus. They need to work on installing shoulders on west king road. Commuting is easy"
  • Paul
"I've lived in the area for 13 years. I've lived in Northeast Ithaca specifically for 5 years. Northeast Ithaca is very competitive as far as buying a home. The people are great and Northeast Elementary including the Ithaca City School District is beyond amazing. Northeast Ithaca is close to Cornell University. There are many reasons why homes in in Northeast Ithaca are in high demand."
  • Littlespoon1970
"I have lived here for three years and I feel safe in this neighborhood. People are friendly and it’s in walking distance to the commons and my work at Ithaca High School."
