We relocated to Pittsburgh a year and a half ago so we we're not familiar with the area or the schools around us, and I always take reviews with a grain of salt. We are on the border between Brentwood & Carrick and were unsure what school my daughter would end up at, but lets be honest, we were hoping for Brentwood because.. reviews. Hate to say that but like I said, I didn't have any understanding of the area all that much and the move happened fast. But my daughter is now in her second year and it's really unfortunate that this school gets so much hate because coming in from a whole different state was stressful enough for her but there's been nothing but good support for her from admin and her classmates. I'm not familiar with anything going on there that would warrant such a bad review. My wife is more active with her activities than I but no red flags have ever come up. Her grades are consistently well, and there's been more than enough opportunities for her to get more help when she needed it. We're always in the know about what's going on.. sometimes a little TOO much with the emails but I think that's a minor nuisance and not even that big of a deal.I hope parents will do their homework when it comes to their kids education. From the first week the teachers all seem to know every child by name. Students are greeted each morning with an all-school assembly with drumming, singing, a welcome message by the Principal, and the school rock band rocking out. Its a fantastic way to start the day! Some are rude when you ask for help and do not support the children in a positive way. There are fights and some teachers or staff just stand there and watch.
