About this House

This lovely Bungalow is a slice of Heaven, right in Bungalow Heaven, which, I suppose, makes a lot of sense. It's a 1250 sq ft two Bedroom, one Bath, built around 1931, with character and charm and a lot of built ins. We renovated the bathroom (architectural tile, double sink, and a rainfall shower) and kitchen (stainless steel appliances), had the hardwoods redone, and have improved the house while keeping the vintage feel. The property is a very cozy three on a lot, with a second Bungalow right behind (also coming available, if you have a friend you want as a neighbor). The Bungalow includes 2 parking spaces side by side.

It's quiet and pleasant, just like much of Pasadena. We are very close to Old Town, and we walk over to Amigo's for fabulous burritos, or to the Regal for Movie Night on Wednesdays. Tuesdays are trivia nights at T Boil's Tavern. And there are lovely parks, Ralph's is right around the corner, grab a bite at the Hat, or go to Roma's Deli for The Sandwich, the best combo of real Italian meat and cheeses, served for over 50 years. It's an easy stroll over to the Subway stop at Lake, and you can be in Downtown in about a half hour.

More Detail:

THE LIVING ROOM: This room looks out onto the front yard, and gets an amazing amount of light from two walls full of windows. The beautiful hardwood floors have been redone through the bungalow, and look amazing. The wrap around porch is just outside, and covers two sides of the room. It's wired for cable and high speed internet.

THE KITCHEN: We renovated and remodeled the kitchen in 2018, with new tile, custom cabinets (including a fantastic giant pantry), stainless steel refrigerator, dishwasher, and gas stove, with microwave above. The stained glass window appliques give you more privacy, and, when the sun hits them, it makes rainbows on the floor, which our cat desperately wanted to either lay in or kill. We made a lot of amazing meals in there.

THE BATHROOM: We remodeled the bathroom in 2023, with custom wavy wall tile that goes all the way to the top, and a classy glass block wall at the end of the shower. The shower sports a tub spout, a regular wall shower head, and a built in rainfall shower head above. We also put the faucet high up on the wall, in case you want to bathe with a friend. The vanity is marble, with double sinks, and rainfall faucets. We kept the Art Deco feel with stainless steel recessed medicine cabinets, and steel/brushed nickel fixtures.

THE BEDROOMS: Two spacious bedrooms with walk in closets (if you don't mind squeezing a bit) and custom built-in double rod closets, with shelves and drawers. There are built in storage closets/shelves right outside of each bedroom, built-in in the way that makes you love Craftsman. One bedroom is in the front, the other in the rear, and they are separated by the bathroom and a long hall, so there's never any noise.

THE BONUS ROOM: There's a bonus room at the rear, with sliding glass doors to the outside. We used it for a split laundry room/office, and are including a washer and a dryer, already hooked up. We also built in a secret door from the bonus room into the kitchen, behind the refrigerator, at 36 inches wide, so you can easily move furniture in and out. Or, just show off your secret door to close friends. Haven't you aways wanted a secret door?

EXTRA STUFF: This unit (244) and the one directly behind it (242) are both going on the market. If you want to spread out in both units, or have a friend or family member you want as a neighbor, we are enthusiastic about making that sort of thing happen.

There is a 10x12 custom built shed (Man Cave/She Shed/Storage) on the property that will be emptied out by the end of April, and we are happy to rent it to you.

We currently have installed a 240 Level 2 ev charger that we planned to remove and transfer to our new place, but are open to selling it and leaving it behind.

If you happen to have your own refrigerator or washer/dryer, we can move ours out. We will also leave our three AC units, if you like.

We are looking to rent this marvelous place ASAP. We haven't jacked up the rent, and we're not looking to make a quick buck. We prefer someone who wants to stay for a long time, and want someone who will take excellent care of the place. We will do a credit check, and ask for first month's rent and a deposit, usually equal to the first month's rent. We are finishing up the last of the repairs and upgrades, and are available for showings almost any time. We look forward to welcoming you to your new home!

We generally prefer a one year lease.

Pets are considered with deposit.

Parking for 2 vehicles is included.

Owner pays for water, sewer, trash, and gardener.

The other bungalow on the property is also available.

There is a 120 sq ft shed on the property, available for rent.
