7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school is subpar at best. There are rats and cockroaches (and other disgusting bugs) within the locker room. The PE teachers do not care about the health of students; they make them lie on the filthy gym floor everyday, and they never clean them. Some of the teachers here are great, but the other teachers can be somewhat of a martinet, being very critical, making students cry. I see students in the cafeteria running around like monkeys, chasing each other and putting one another in garbage cans, with no consequences. The curriculum is not challenging, as for the whole school year I have spent less than 8 hours total on homework. If you want your to have a good middle experience, do NOT send your child here.Student Review3y ago - Theodore Judah Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy two kids go here, one in T-K and one in second grade. So far, I have been incredibly happy with this school. It has a small neighborhood feel, and I've always felt that all the other parents and teachers have their eye out on the kids to make sure they're safe. The principal is wonderful. He's very positive and involved in the campus, always saying hi to the kids and talking with them. He's like a rockstar to my kids. The office staff are also incredibly helpful and friendly, which seems to be an anomaly nowadays. So far, our teachers have been good, and the T-K and kindergarten programs have been warm and nurturing. My kids are actually strangely excited for the week to start so they can go back to school. The school culture is very positive. A new positive character trait is emphasized regularly, and there is a kindness program. My kids have never experienced any bullying, but I know it's taken very seriously when it happens. Parents are very involved and are welcomed to volunteer. I am by no means a "cool" mom, but I've always felt welcomed and appreciated. I love the holistic focus on the whole child here. Regular studies are augmented with gardening, music, art, and science. I also appreciate the historic school building, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. It might not always look brand new and sparkling, but it makes up for it in charm.Overall, a wonderful school with a nice group of kids, parents, and staff!Parent Review2y ago - Check out schools near 2417 26th St #2.

"Good access to busses and the light rail, but it’s more of a bike friendly neighborhood than walk friendly. My drive to any point in sac is 10-20 minutes depending on traffic and there’s some shops/food spots nearby so I don’t often need to leave my zip code. "

"Old growth trees and quaint bungalow homes...you can feel the history on every block. Neighbors are all nice and involved with the community and welcomed us when we moved here six months ago. We are close enough to downtown or the freeways to get to wherever we need to be. We are discovering new things about Sacramento every week."

"The best thing about this area is the nearly non-existent crime. Walking to light rail and bus routes takes just a couple minutes and we can get to most parts of the city. It's also great to be in walking distance to the zoo and Land Park."

"Curtis Park is one of the Premier Neighborhoods of the greater Sacramento area. Some homes historical in nature, many one off custom homes. Not easy to find a home for sale in this area. Most homes could still be owned by the heirs of the original owner. The streets are shaded by trees that have existed for generations. The actual Park is also shaded by historically aged trees, updated with a walk/run path that circles the park."
