3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school is horrible. They think that because the school is located and a low income area that is OK to give these students the bare minimum. The test scores are low because they’re not teaching a students nor getting the kids to help that they need. The principal doesn’t know or interact with the kids and she’s been there for over 18 years and we wonder why this school has low test scores. The kids are not getting the proper education because of the staff.Parent Review1y ago8 Reviews - Fairmont Heights High School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school itself used to be great, until the principal hired staff that are like them. The staff either over talks your child, uses their power to a higher standard than it already is, they quiet your child into submission rather than hearing them out. They most importantly are passive aggressive or passive when it comes to students in general who don't cause that many problems. One of the staff stated to a girl, "If you didn't wear your shirt too tight, they wouldn't have done what they did to you." And some of the staff do be passive whenever a student is doing something disgusting to another student. They'd "Talk" to the wrong doer, and let them Scott free over and over. Want a suggestion? Dont bring your child to this school. The food is partially cooked, the school dress code only applies to students who have curvier body types. And their bias, so please, listen to the 1 reviews who are recent or close to the year your in. Do not send your kid here.Teacher Review8mo ago10 Reviews - G. James Gholson Middle School

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a current student myself here, i think this school should not be apart of the school system, wanna know why? there is a bunch of fights at this school, the school is messy and the students here are so rude no matter what, there are literally bullies here and nobody is doing anything? second, the teachers are lowkey annoying, when you raise your hand, they aren’t even doing anything like i’m just trying to use the bathroom and they are taking long to see my darn hand, third, the bathrooms are incredibly disgusting and nasty, i can’t even use the bathroom because the door on the stall won’t close!! lastly, if your ever thinking of bringing your child to this school, i don’t recommend it, this school is awful!Student Review1mo ago25 Reviews - Check out schools near 2204 E Spring Pl.

"I grew up here. I moved back after 30 years. It’s friendly but the neighborhood isn’t that great. I wish it was better. It has the potential to be better if there was some investment into the neighborhood. "

"It is near the metro but it far enough out that car is preferable. It is easy to get ride share though. "

"The neighborhood is friendly. A lot of family visits in the neighborhood so do not marvel if you hear music on your street or smell cooked burgers. Only con is that there are no designated parking spots, people conveniently park in your spot. "

"Thankfully in the current living situation that I am in, I get rides to and from work. My job is about 10 minutes away from my current residence, with traffic. "

"Great access to public transportation, 495 and downtown D.C. Heavy traffic on days with Fed Ex Field events, otherwise smooth sailing."

"There's no dog park. It's a decent neighborhood to have dogs but be sure they're leashed and you clean up after them."

"Don’t really feel safe at night, have seen a small fox raccoons and possums. Not really in walking distance to any restaurants but maybe a few fast food spots and definitely no parking at night. "

"I lived in the same home since 1987 what make my neighborhood unique is my neighbors have a live band every day at 7pm they start playing. It can go from 7pm until 11 or 12pm every day I call the police "

"Streets are dirty. There is not enough parking space so some people park outside on the streets. Also kids are always running around the parking spaces and it is dangerous."

"I am Grandmother who visits often. I love the kiddie park for them that offers slides and basketball court. There is a church very near and the bus stop is also close. The environment is what I would call suburbia, since I live in the city, I like that I can get on a bus to go to Washington DC. It's a great place to bring up my little grandsons...I Love the quiet neighborhood. "
