"Cambridge Port is an amazing place to live in.! I would recommend visiting there to anyone. ……………..!!!!!"
  • Masl55
"Many playgrounds including several which exclude dogs. Streets are safe with a few exceptions (Brookline, Putnam, Sidney, Magazine, River). Kids mostly walk to elementary schools. "
  • Trulia User
"A very complex system of tunnels and bridges. Some roads are very narrow. It is also extremely difficult to find parking. "
  • Eric.tencer
"Lots of parks and easy to park. Close to Boston but feels mush more residential. Easy access to river. "
  • Unspecified
"Block parties galore to meet other neighbors, lots of different activities for the kids, neighborhood potlucks and lots of parks to meet different people. "
  • Sheniateodoro
"The convenience and the friendly community. Also the diversity of culture and people. Should be cleaner and safer than actually is...I don’t feel safe walking home at midnight after work."
  • bettymcmahon56
"I've lived here for 5 years but the house is in my family since 1975 when my parents bought it ..I sometimes come home in the middle of the wee hours have never been bothered know everyone on first name basis and the neighborhood is constantly changing in a good way.."
  • Crobinson435
"Great place to live and raise a family. The community is diverse but a bit segregated...like most of the world."
  • raechel k.
"There could be more dog parks, but there are some around. It's a fine place to have a dog."
  • raechel k.
"It's an easy commute from the Red Line, which is very accessible. There's also many bus lines that connect. It does get crowded, but overall easy to get to and from."
  • raechel k.
"There's a mix of people and things to do. It's been a nice place to live."
  • raechel k.

  • Sharon d.
"Safety is always first. Everyone looks out for you."
  • Ky L.
"There's a number of pro dog shops, and a lot of water bowls outside of shops for the dogs. Lots of interesting walking areas and small parks. It does get very cold in the winter though, so it's good to check that where you're going will allow your dog."
  • Ky L.
"We're easily accessed by the Red Line, so it's super easy to get to. It's walkable from across the river in Allston too."
  • Ky L.
"There's a lot of diversity and culture. We have so many different types of restaurants, owned and run by members of the culture the food comes from. There's a dance studio, the graffiti alley, and live jazz. The crosswalk next to town hall is rainbow. Food Not Bombs sets up weekly."
  • Ky L.
"Our library has a lot of good stuff for kids, with an entire floor dedicated to YA and children's literature. There are a lot of homeless people and many of them struggle with addictions, so it's not necessarily the safest to let your kids run around unsupervised after daylight hours."
  • kath j.
"Dog owners love Cambridgeport. We have several great dog parks. Lots of owners meet each day to socialize with friends and other dogs."
  • kath j.
"Unfortunately right now there are several major road construction projects going on right outside the area. This has contributed to very messy traffic congestion. These projects are not due to be completed for at least 5 more years."
  • kath j.
"We are an urban, tight knit community. We're sandwiched between two world renowned universities, whic adds diversity and culture to the area."
  • kath j.
"We have a fantastic grammar school within walking distance. The school has good diverse education programs. And lots of after-school programs."
  • raechel k.
"There are walkable dog parks and green space. It's a good spot to live when you have a dog, some dog friendly places as well."
  • raechel k.
"The Red Line MBTA is very convenient when trying to get around the city."
  • raechel k.
"It's a mix of people, and there are lots of stores and places to go. It's a nice neighborhood to live in."

  • Kcross86
"The area has a great laid back feel but you are a stones throw to the city and right next to Trader Joe's which is awesome"
  • Lin W.
"quite and friendly just live here for two months, I love this place. very nice and beaitful people are kind to.each other"
  • pbubriski
"Cambridgeport still has the feel of a village but it's steps away from all the excitement of Cambridge and Boston. Incredibly easy to get to Boston by bike or T or car. The Red Line is 3 minutes away. Matt Damon grew up across the street!"
  • debwah2
"I have lived here since 1978 and have seen it evolve from always being a cultural melting pot of race, class, and income. What it has always been is a real neighborhood with neighbors who care and are involved in their surroundings. I raised my family here and am still here as an elder. It is now a more upscale neighborhood with many renovations and condo conversions. many families with children and many pets. The parks are great and the local dog park is well used. there are also many restaurants and nightlife nearby in Central Sq. The public transportation is very close and user friendly. As a senior, I love my neighborhood and would recommend it to both young and old."
  • Dave B.
"Cambridgeport is relatively safe, 5 minutes to Back Bay or Harvard Sq., and has many old single-family homes. There are a lot of families, lots of parks, and it is close to the river. The only drawback? Super expensive!"
