Read what parents are saying about Kennedy-Longfellow SchoolOur son's first year at KLO has been great (K-student). The teachers, admin, and the environment -diversity here is beautiful- are just amazing. The school has offered great support and resources during this COVID-19 period, helping kids to continue learning as smooth but effective as possible.
Posted by a parent on 7/28/2020This is my daughter's first year at KLo (as a JK student) and we have had an extremely positive experience. The teachers are excellent - all of them, from classroom to art to music to gym - and the curriculum is well-rounded and engaging. The student body is very diverse and class sizes are small. While the building is older compared to some other 'new and shiny' CPS schools, the environment is positive and welcoming. Just a note to those who are reading these reviews - it looks like the negative reviews are from 2012 and 2013 and I believe the school had different leadership at that time.
Posted by a parent on 1/11/2019We moved our child here from another Cambridge public school, and the difference is astounding. The teachers are the cream of the crop: caring, nurturing, and experienced in dealing with children with learning differences. There is definitely a disconnect between the administration and the rest of the school, but in our experience it is the teachers who make all the difference. The bottom line for us, the teachers here make our child happy to go to school everyday.
Posted by a parent on 6/12/2015Spacious classrooms with large windows, excellent teachers, very pleasant staff, phenomenal reading specialist, shady playground with water feature, climbing structures and field...
Posted by a parent on 4/30/2014Bullying is a huge problem at this school. The first grade teacher, who discouraged any type of parent involvement in the classroom, is totally inept and actually cruel to bullied children. The principal refuses to deal with any bullying problems. Language classes were taken away from students. There is no advanced or ISP program. Reminds me of a 1970s prison film.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLoving our experience at Capuano. Teachers and staff are very caring and not sure if I've just "lucked out", but both of my kids have had wonderful teachers here and have learned so much. Other parents I know feel the same way.Parent Review6mo ago - Cambridgeport

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageKing open is a great school! My daughter first went to the school last year. I had to admit she wasn't so sure about it. Now she is doing distance learning and every day she is enjoying it! She has friends who except her for who she is and won't tease her because of glasses. She even came home with a present one of her friend's gave her. I'm shocked by the way the King Open community cares. The teachers and staff at King Open are the most loyal staff you could ever ask for! I know about all the work my daughter is doing because I'm getting informed about it. The staff constantly provide stuff for online-schooling. The only problem I have is my daughter who always gets bored around a computer. Other than that King Open is a wonderful school that deserves 5 stars. King open is also a Vibrant community full of diverse people! One day my daugther was telling me all about native american life and culture because they learn about it during class. I've never had any problems with this school and neither has my daugther. I think this school is amazing!Parent Review3y ago - Fletcher/Maynard Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have been an Advent family for 7 years now and love the education our children receive. The teachers are warm and knowledgeable and can pivot to meet the needs of each child. Advent families are inviting and excited about the school and building community with each other. There are multiple family gatherings throughout the year and across the city. Our children are well prepared for tomorrow, but more importantly have a love of learning and curiosity.Parent Review1mo ago - Boston Children's School
