Our son's first year at KLO has been great (K-student). The teachers, admin, and the environment -diversity here is beautiful- are just amazing. The school has offered great support and resources during this COVID-19 period, helping kids to continue learning as smooth but effective as possible.

This is my daughter's first year at KLo (as a JK student) and we have had an extremely positive experience. The teachers are excellent - all of them, from classroom to art to music to gym - and the curriculum is well-rounded and engaging. The student body is very diverse and class sizes are small. While the building is older compared to some other 'new and shiny' CPS schools, the environment is positive and welcoming. Just a note to those who are reading these reviews - it looks like the negative reviews are from 2012 and 2013 and I believe the school had different leadership at that time.

We moved our child here from another Cambridge public school, and the difference is astounding. The teachers are the cream of the crop: caring, nurturing, and experienced in dealing with children with learning differences. There is definitely a disconnect between the administration and the rest of the school, but in our experience it is the teachers who make all the difference. The bottom line for us, the teachers here make our child happy to go to school everyday.

Spacious classrooms with large windows, excellent teachers, very pleasant staff, phenomenal reading specialist, shady playground with water feature, climbing structures and field...

Bullying is a huge problem at this school. The first grade teacher, who discouraged any type of parent involvement in the classroom, is totally inept and actually cruel to bullied children. The principal refuses to deal with any bullying problems. Language classes were taken away from students. There is no advanced or ISP program. Reminds me of a 1970s prison film.
