7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe decided to move here after our homeschool, which is a half a block away has 85% of the kids bussed in which has resulted in bullying on the girl side.Merrill seems to be a great fit. Our daughter has made some great friends, seems to be thriving in school.Parents are involved. Those who complain are probably not involved.Of course, there are always some issues with teachers. One or two that don’t seem to want to be there. School leadership seems to be top notch and headed in the right direction.Our daughter’s education is thriving. For the reviewer who had a weird comment about the food? Who cares how you cut the pizza if you don’t like the food, pack their lunch. Just be happy that they are serving lunch to the kids.Like any middle school, my daughter has noticed smoking. The school is supported by an absolutely fantastic community and highly engaged PTA. Teachers and administration are accessible, engaged, and deeply care about each student. One of our favorite parts of the school's philosophy is how they manage conflict and resolution among the kids - the kids are taught a framework and are coached by the staff, with accountability placed on the students to adhere to the model. As a result, I've not heard a single report of bullying from either of my kids and I've witnessed growth in their own ability to manage emotions and navigate conflicts with peers (and each other!). "Colorado is the Dog state. Neighborhood is very accommodating to dogs. Some people take it too far and think they can take their dogs into stores and restaurants. Otherwise, good b neighborhood for dogs."

"Safe, quiet and on the upside of value. Quite a bit of character with the new homes being built. Only blocks from the High line trail for hiking and biking. "

"Lots of people walking after work, neighbors know each other, you can walk two blocks to Starbucks or to the store. Manageable sized homes with great parks nearby plus easy access to major roads and freeways, but none of the road noise. This neighborhood is a gem!"

"We lived here for several years and loved it. Its close to i25, Tech Center, Schools and Highline Canal Trail. This area is very affordable for new families and really one of the few remaining nice areas of affordable housing. Scrapeoffs are starting to occur on the East side of Dahlia and are driving home prices up - don't wait this area will not be getting less expensive anytime soon. Lack of a park of any kind on the East side of Dahlia is a negative but very attractive area with mature trees and landscaping, decent sized lots, etc."
