Nestled in the well-planned community of Morgan Ranch, beneath the shade of a flowering Dogwood tree, is a charming house just waiting for you to make it your home. The abundance of natural light, which floods the living areas, touches down on blonde vinyl flooring and quartz countertops and fills a cozy kitchen, updated with new appliances and a generous farmhouse sink. The upper floor of the house which looks out over a whimsical, foliage-covered backyard, will keep feet warm and noise down, as the spacious bedrooms and hall floors are covered in soft carpeting. Master bathroom updates mean self-care isn't a luxury, but a daily occurrence. An ideal place to make memories and friends in the neighborhood, this community is in close proximity to Hwy 49 and downtown Grass Valley. -10/2020 New Roof-Spring 2021 New HVAC -Fall 2022- New Deck, Kitchen Remodel (quartz countertops, tile backsplash, painted cabinets, farmhouse sink, recessed lighting, new gas range, dishwasher & microwave), Primary bathroom (new vanity, quartz counter, extended shower, floor to ceiling stone tile) New interior paint lower level. 7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDeer Creek is a dream come true for me and my family. I am one of those Moms that has a hard time letting go, I love my children with everything I have and I am SO comfortable with trusting this school and ALL the personnel I've encountered so far with my boys. I expressed minor concern that my son was having a difficult time and I immediately received offers of 3 additional meets for him if we were interested. I absolutely adore our kindergarten teacher and the Principal. I am absolutely shocked that there would ever be a negative review regarding this precious school in any way. I think like with everything in life if you want to be connected get involved! They welcome parent input and parent involvement tremendously. You will fall in love with this school.Parent Review3y ago - Seven Hills Intermediate School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent, I have been incredibly frustrated with my child's experience at Seven Hills. The focus is on rules, obedience, and conformity. The administration is more concerned about what girls wear than how they educate their students. 4th-grade girls are required to follow the same dress code as 8th-grade girls. At back-to-school night, the teacher was happy to explain how she "fixed a 4th-grade girl's" clothes to be more "modest." REALLY? Is "modesty" even a thing for a 9-year-old? It is beyond me how this is even close to appropriate. Parent concerns go ignored and unanswered. If you expect to be respected as a parent and partner with your local school, this is not the school for you. Instead, the school expects parents to fundraise and then keep quiet. The teachers are nice and well-meaning, but the curriculum is old and boring. The administration stripped the school of advanced math for 4th and 5th grades, so students excelling in math sit in class, and do nothing, while students who struggle in math get extra help. The school reads older books like "Penny Reeds Doll" but then doesn't take their students to visit the Donner Memorial Museum. And an English teacher at back-to-school night actually called reading "boring". What is that?!! My students have made nice friends and don't seem to know the difference, so their ignorance is bliss. But as a parent new to the district, and used to a responsive and caring teaching and administration staff, I am appalled. Nevada City School District has gone WAY downhill. It is time for new leadership!Parent Review7mo ago - Nevada Union High School

What Locals Say about Grass Valley
- Christine Cook

"Not a lot of dog parks downtown but miles and miles of hiking trails where owners can bring their dogs as long as they stay on a leash. Most pet owners are very responsible in this community."

"It’s a quiet neighborhood with mostly Victorian homes. It’s near a high school but that doesn’t seem to affect traffic or the peaceful atmosphere. It’s fairly close to Hwy 49 so there’s a lot of background noise but one gets used to it pretty quickly. There are several nice parks and trails nearby. It’s a decent place to raise a family. It’s also within walking distance to of historic downtown and shopping. "

"We have a vibrant downtown area with community events offered several days a week, many of which are free. Grass Valley residents tend to be creative and artistic. Many residents own local shops to display their wares. "

"Yes people walk their dogs every day here! There is a nice trail as well as the street. No sidewalks is the only weakness."

"It is like living in a tourist town. Cost of living is higher. Housing more expensive than I am used to. I am displaced due to the camp fire and my employer relocated me here and I am grateful. "

"Alta Sierra is one of the nicest and safest communities anywhere in the vicinity. Neighbors are friendly. HOA only costs $40/yr and is a wonderful community organization. Great clubhouse, golf course, restaurants, pizza parlor, auto repair, elementary school. Quiet. Absolutely lovely. Herds of deer roam freely everywhere. Only 3 miles to town. But far enough out of town to really enjoy being in the country. Lots of amenities."

"if working in Sacramento it about an hour. in town 15 minutes. Traffic is tough in Auburn due to traffic lights in the morning and afternoon. HWY 49 is very dangerous and almost one lane half way to Auburn. HWY 80 can be bumper to number during rush hour, so 8 miles can take 30 minutes or more."

"Events at the Alta Sierra Golf Course clubhouse are lots of fun! Community pool is a great feature too."

"Grass Valley is great, but something strange in a brewing in the air around here. whatever it is it's not good. But schools are great!! There is a lot of homeless and illicit drug use and I'm not talking marijuana either. At first, I thought the people were nice, but I think that's only in Penn Valley. Grass Valley has many younger/middle-age folk that act like they are in high school and are brutal to new comers. That being said, I have met many kind individuals who have been welcoming."

"Friendly neighborhood, fairly quiet. Most neighbors know each other's names and watch out for each other."

"This is a great location. It's on a quiet cul-de-sac with only five homes. Walking distance to downtown Grass Valley (0.75 miles) and to hiking trails at the Empire Mine State Park (0.1 mile). Family friendly neighborhood. Very safe. "
