"Historic and always well maintained. It has high quality small shops and some great go to restaurants. There are many tourists but you usually see familiar faces. If it wasn’t so expensive and the public schools in the zone were better, I would love to live here for good. It’s centrally so easy to get to other nice neighborhoods. "

"I don’t have children so my opinion may be lacking but the neighborhood seems safe as long as you avoid the northern section of 5th and Callowhill as there’s a section of homeless encampments there. "

"Old City is one of the most romantic and charming neighborhoods in Philadelphia! Galleries spill open for First Friday, the piers on the waterfront are bustling with yoga, activities and markets in the summertime, and fine art + theater art abounds, as do Indie film showings. It’s the cobblestone heart of historic Philadelphia, rich with culture, museums, the regular colonial actor encounter, and some delicious restaurants. It’s downfall: not the best in terms of gyms of grocery stores! "

"This neighborhood isn’t so much for family’s, but pre-families. Newlyweds and first time home buyers. Pet friendly is an understatement. There are definitely more puppy’s than babies roaming the streets. Lots of amenities, close to transportation, rail and bus. Very safe. "
