9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe subjects are good, good community, the only problem is that your yearly experience is HEAVILY dependent on the teachers you get. My apush teacher only talks about himself and I just know I'm failing the AP test because of it. School lunch is good, Campus is great, I never find myself being late to classes, but the hall monitors can be a little strange at times. Gender neutral bathrooms are required to have the doors open at all times, which i'm pretty sure is to prevent vaping but it's kinda like really discriminatory towards gender non-conforming students. Overall really good school, I feel like I was kind of negative towards it but i've genuinely enjoyed my time here.Student Review2mo ago - Love Elementary

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child started kindergarten in 2020 remotely so when she entered 1st grade at Love, in person, she thrived and fell in love with school. The teachers and the principal are wonderful, passionate and committed to creating a welcoming, nurturing and inclusive environment for all students. There is a strong sense of community at Love Elementary with a caring and supportive PTA. A diverse school with families from all different ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds and an everyday culture that promotes inclusion and respect for all cultures.Parent Review1y ago - Will C. What Locals Say about Bronze Coast

"Lovely architecture to admire while walking the dog. Nearby parks and beaches are only 6 blocks away. Downside is that dogs aren’t allowed on the sand but you can walk on the sidewalks overlooking the water. Hardly any traffic so the streets are quiet. People with dogs give other dogs lots of space. Rare to see dog waste not cleaned up-though it happens. "

"sensor lights should be place on all areas of your house to deter anyone from coming if they are not invited to visit. and a alarm if they are to close to the house or apt."

"I am not sure what to say here. I moved here in March 2019 and I am so happy living in such a place. I love that I can walk to the beach, and walk along the bay and see San Francisco in the distance."

"I’ve only been living here for a month now and I’m very happy about the walkability around here. I’ve been living in Tx for the past 5 years living in the burbs right outside Houston where there’s no public transportation, sidewalks, bike lanes etc. Tx isn’t pedestrian friendly at all so it’s good being back in CA."

"Friendly: older neighbors are welcoming to younger owners moving in. Slowly gentrifying (younger generation Alameda born are moving out). Lots of younger renters (30-40) too."

"It’s awesome! I live right on a lagoon and I have a kayak I take out on it. The beach is 3 blocks and Park St is a 15 min walk. Super safe and neighborhood is friendly. Flat and great for biking and running. Traffic is better here than most places in Bay. I take a ferry to SF for work which is a wonderful way to commute. Love it!"

"Alameda is a family friendly city that does not like speeders. We have great food and people don't like to leave the island u less they must. it was beautiful bike paths."

"I've lived in this neighborhood for 9 years. The area is quiet and clean. There is a regular police presence. Rent is very high though."
- Guy B.

"Alameda's close proximity to San Francisco makes it convenient to Silicon Valley too, but at a fraction of the price. Super cute older homes and a close knit neighborhood feel is felt throughout the island. We don't have cross traffic being an island which gives us an identity like no other city in the entire San Francisco metropolitan area. As for the city itself, Alameda is safe, has good schools, is charming quaint, and quiet with plenty of shops, restaurants, movie theatre, walking and bike trails. I've lived all over the bay area and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else but Alameda."
