"Public transportation easy access, many restaurants, public park and the ocean is nearby. There are multiple shopping centers and a host of cafes, the library etc."
  • Trulia User
"It’s all about the beach vibe and the gorgeous weather. It’s a different approach to San Francisco living. "
  • Matt
"9th and Irving and golden Gate park make it ideal location. Many public transportation options and quite streets with little traffic "
  • Matt
"Multiple public transit options from where we live 43, 44 bus lines to forest hill station. K,L,M from Forest Hill to do downtown. Also have N Judah "
  • Ariun M.
"I’ve lived in here for 2 years now. Not like too friendly but not bad. There are too many raccoons near the houses."
  • Matt
"City streets fair when Irving street is closed to cars. Farmers market, nearby events like Friday nights at the de young and weekends at GG park."
  • Slr242
"It’s only a few blocks from the shops & restaurants of Irving Street, but it’s far easier to find a parking space."
  • Slr242
"There are at least 3 preschools in the neighborhood. There’s less traffic and it’s quieter than the area near Irving Street. The UCSF hospital is less than a 5 minute drive."
  • 12-year resident
"We have multiple train and bus lines and quick access to 19th Avenue for going south to Silicon Valley or north to the Golden Gate Bridge."
  • Paul
"Anywhere from 25-45 mins to downtown depending on the time you leave. West Portal station has three trains (K, L, M) that go downtown. "
  • Chandler S.
"Super easy to get downtown - nestled between West Portal and Inner-sunset muni plus 6 bus line stops at the corner!"
  • Amy L.
"It takes me 25 min using muni to downtown during peak commute hours. Very fast. Very predictable as you can track times on the muni app. "
  • Ggh
"We've lived here for 12 years. There is a big problem with homeless people recently. They threatened my neighbor."
  • Arshad R.
"I’ve lived here for 20 years and it’s a nice family oriented neighborhood. Restaurants, bars and golden gate park are all in walking distance. I wish we had a front yard but that’s what we lack here in the houses no front yard and hardly any backyard. Schools are good so overall it’s a nice place to live."
  • Guap B.
    "Dogs are very welcome here!"
  • Dennis M.
"The neighborhood's small yards probably aren't great for pets."
  • Guap B.
"It's a very cool place with a lot of people to meet and chat about life with."
  • Dennis M.
"Close to Inner Sunset shops, Golden Gate Park, the DeYoung museum, and the California Academy of Sciences."
  • Dennis M.
"There's easy access to the Golden Gate Bridge and good public transportation, with 5 Muni lines close by. The commute to the East Bay is not as good—you'd have to drive downtown to get onto I-80. If I need to go downtown, I take the N-Judah and don't try driving unless it's late."
  • Dennis M.
"It's a fairly safe neighborhood close to Golden Gate Park."
  • Michael A.
"A great neighborhood to walk to the commercial strip, many fine restaurants, close to Golden Gate Park, UCSF and all the special stair ways around Golden Gate Heights. (Check out the Selma Steps!) "
  • danielstjames
"The Inner Sunset is where it's happening. Great, safe, beautiful area, with hills and Golden Gate Park at your door. Lots of shops, coffeehouses, restaurants, banks, bars and other amenities and the N-Judah train is right in the middle of it all. Parts of the Inner Sunset have views of the ocean, The Golden Gate Bridge and Downtown. This is the new hip place to settle in San Francisco, where you can buy a HOUSE for what a flat will cost you on the other side of Twin Peaks."
