Read what parents are saying about Lincoln (Abraham) High SchoolI had a really fun time at Lincoln. I dropped out during Covid but I made a lot of cool connections and saw a lot of interesting things. It was a very fun time and I enjoyed every second of it. Off campus lunch means students can go down to taraval and enjoy some of the food. It also means its very easy to leave school at any time because none of the doors are locked! Which is awesome if you don't care about school. I had a lot of cool and caring teachers/staff here, big shoutout to Aaron Yang, Mark Ruffalo, Omar Campos, Joel Balzer, and Lance Tagamori. The staff here cares about their students and wants them to succeed, they understand the variety of adversities that students face and are willing to help anyone succeed. I highly recommend Lincoln to anyone who wants to have a somewhat challenging school experience that fosters growth and life skills. The school is great. If you apply yourself here you will succeed and grow, I did the opposite but still learned a lot about life. I have very fond memories of my time here and wouldn't trade it for anything. Only reason it gets a three for safety is cause it's easy to leave and I knew a lot of kids who brought weapons to school, but these weren't dangerous or malicious people and only people who wanted to stay safe because of the neighborhood they live in and it is likely 97% of students were unaware to this fact, so don't worry.
Posted by a community member on 12/20/2023I went to this school for all four years of high school, and it was good until the end. Currently, with the teacher shortages, there are classrooms without teachers in them. I took Physiology my senior year, and to make a long story proper, the teacher quit after three weeks of teaching. Instead of finding a replacement or signing us up for an online class, they made it into a class where you go to class and get credit by attendance. We didn't learn Physiology at all, and the main event in class that would happen almost every week was: Where is our sub? A couple of students would go downstairs to the main office to inquire if we had a teacher so we could get our attendance. I wished the school would have made an effort to give us our education, and the fact that they didn't is appalling and shows how much they cared about our education. It was a free A of learning nothing but having credit on our transcript. There were various times also when some teachers would break 504 and IEP agreements, and when reported, almost nothing came from it, and what ended up happening was prolonged and continued disrespect. Lincoln has some really good teachers and some really good classes, and teachers, when present in the class, are high quality and care about their students' learning. They provide great mental health resources. They have rigorous curriculums for those who are willing to take the challenge. Overall when teachers are present in the classroom, the school is great.
Posted by a community member on 9/23/2023Our son just completed his freshman year and loved it. This school seems very solid. The teachers were all very good if not excellent. We were able to talk to the teachers one on one when we needed to talk through any freshman year issues (use of phone in class, etc). Our son did well academically and made new friends. The school seems safe and calm. Our son loves it and he usually doesn’t love school. My husband is also a high school teacher in SF so we know what to look for and it’s there. We highly recommend!

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have been at St. Stephen School for 5 years. The teaching staff work really hard and try their best to provide a positive learning environment for the students but the administration and office personnel desperately needs to change. There has been a high turnover of staff these past few years, in particular teachers and office staff. The principal has a derogatory attitude, is confrontational with parents, and it is obvious that she makes the school staff miserable. This year the office has transitioned from a warm welcoming environment to one where parents are not welcomed and are ridiculed when they ask a question or express a concern. Consistently there has been one particular office staff member a gray-haired lady who is rude and dismissive of parents and students and does not seem to possess any social skills to work in a school environment. The school has some positive attributes, parents try hard to build a community, fundraise, and students seem to be happy there. We have loved this school, but the constant changeover of staff and the bully-type behavior of the principal and some staff members is something that needs to be dealt with. Unfortunately, we no longer recommend St. Stephens to our friends.Parent Review11mo ago - San Francisco Waldorf High School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe are a new Waldorf family and my son is currently a 9th grader at the school. I cannot say enough about what an amazing experience this school has been for my kid. When we visited last year, I knew that the curriculum sounded amazing as well as the opportunities (foreign exchange, class trips) but we still weren't sure how well my son would actually fit in- especially as the school is quite small.However- the school has been fantastic on all fronts- including the social aspect. Even though the class is small all the kids interact with each other and there is welcome and friendly vibe between all the students. I honestly think my kid has MORE friends than he would at a much larger school where he'd hang out with the same two or three people every day.The teachers really care about the kids, and really seem to "see" my kid for who he is. The academics are amazing and yet I don't feel like the workload is overwhelming or stressful. The projects and assignments aren't busy work. There is tons of available support from the teachers when needed. My son was accepted to several privates and application-based public schools, I'm so happy we chose Waldorf and my child really LIKES going to school. HW load seems comparable to most other privates (when I discuss with other parents with kids at different schools) but not at all overwhelming. (We had one concern that there would be too much homework, but that has not been the case. Yes, there's homework, but my child has plenty of downtime and isn't staying up until 11pm doing school work.I can absolutely recommend this school and want to assure parents with kids coming from other K-8s (public, parochial, etc.) that the school has surpassed my expectations.Parent Review3mo ago
