Description

2 Bed / 2 Bath Pet-Friendly condo with private patio available May 1st at 2001 2nd St NE #2, Washington, DC 20002

Terrific condo with designer kitchen, private patio, and in an unbeatable location.

Upon entering this bright, fully renovated (2018) unit you are greeted with an open concept living and dining space allowing for plenty of design options. The immaculate modern kitchen shares the space with gorgeous accents, tons of cabinet space, and stainless-steel appliances.

There is a main bathroom off the hallway with a full bathtub. The bedrooms are separated from the living room by a walkway allowing you to retire comfortably in your private space. The first bedroom has ample closet space and a door that exits directly to a shared backyard with a fire pit. Going down the hall is the second bedroom with a private patio to enjoy the morning sun and its own ensuite bathroom with a window, tiled shower, and modern finishes throughout. The thoughtful floor plan of the unit could accommodate a single-family or even roommates (each with a private bath). Other conveniences include washer and dryer in-unit and plenty of street parking.

The building itself is small with four other units and friendly neighbors. Shared outdoor space includes the lawn in the front and fire pit in the back of the building.

You will love this fantastic Eckington/Bloomingdale location. You could walk to Rhode Island (12 minutes) and NoMa (15 minutes) metro stops on the Red Line, which makes transit to downtown D.C., Silver Spring, and Bethesda a breeze. The unit also sits right off great driving access points (Rhode Island Ave and North Capitol St). The home is just a hop, skip, and jump to many community spaces including parks (Alethia Tanner Park, Crispus Attucks Park, etc.) and bike paths (Metropolitan Branch Trail) to take you to the National Mall, National Arboretum, and even the Rock Creek Park. There are endless local shops, restaurants, and bars including Lost Generation Brewing Company, Big Bear Cafe, Red Hen, Boundary Stone, and more. Within walking distance are Union Market, The Alamo, Brookland, and Shaw neighborhoods. The Bouldering Project is nearby and serves as an excellent community space and exercise facility.

Water and trash collection are included in the rent; tenant pays for electric and gas.

12-month lease preferred. Pets allowed.
For rent by owner - must be ok with dogs in the unit during any showings.

Renter is responsible for electric and gas.

  • Simplyhousing
"Excellent location for getting to all quadrants within 20 minutes or less. Convenient to bus, metro rail, car share, bike share, you name it, it can be found here. Service is also readily available at all hours here unlike some communities that become a ghost town after 9pm. "
  • Andy M.
"It is very pet friendly. Virtually all my neighbors including myself have cats and dogs."
  • Andy M.
"Eckington is among the many up and coming areas in DC. Eckington is unique because it has corners reaching each general city setting with commerce, warehouses, housing, and metro stations that run right through it. What makes it stand out is that it maintains a neighborhood feel without jeopardizing the city aspect of DC life."
  • Andy M.
"Easy commute -- it's within 15 min of virtually any destination in DC. I always take advantage of the metro station or super affordable ride sharing services. Although buses do run throughout the neighborhood, I have never used it."
  • Andy M.
"A lot of great families here looking for the same thing. Convenience, affordability, and above all safety."
  • Keaerra W.
"It’s like living in a suburb surrounded by the city. It’s quiet when it needs to be but has just enough going on."
  • Ed
"I have lived in Eckington for 4 years now and have send a wonderful transition of real estate improvements, great neighbors and huge reduction in crime , littering and vagrancy. What a wonderful change from the hard hit community of the 90's. Close to a thriving NoMA, H St. and U St. entertainment corridors!"
