9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI graduated from this school in 2019, and I have to say I had a great learning experience. Education wise, this school has the smartest kids in the Greenpoint/Williamsburg area. I have to admit, the teachers aren't always 100% nice, they give a lot of homework, and the school doesn't have a lot of extra-curricular activities, but in terms of your/your child's education, it is so worth it to go here.Other Review4y ago26 Reviews - John Ericsson Middle School 126

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son enjoyed 6th grade at MS126 and is looking forward going into 7th. The school provides a strong foundation and shows genuine interest in our kids. The principal Mr. Goettleman is absolutely wonderful ! he has made lots of improvements in the school which has turned it around. They offer a lot of exposure to our children providing different programs and activities, and they provide a terrific learning environment with programs in STEM. The school is committed to innovative methods of teaching to help students excel academically and being one of the smaller middle schools in the area they have more one on one time with teachers and better communication in the classroom. The staff and teachers at MS126 show a lot of interest in our kids they connect with students and we appreciate them !Thank you !Parent Review10mo ago4 Reviews - Check out schools near 2 Java St.

"Most people are kind and courteous. However, the dog walkers feel entitled to leave the dogs waste on the grass or street near your property. "

"I lived in this area for three years. It's super close to Fort Greene Park, which has a great dog park. You can walk your dogs there off-leash before 9:00 a.m. and after 6:00 p.m., and there are normally 30 to 40 dogs every day. It's a great place if you're a pet owner. "

"new York city can be a hard place to live with dogs, but around my location there are several parks. I would just be cautious of other dog owners due to the fact that some people don’t know personal space and some dogs can bite your dogs."

"Lovely community that keeps on grounded. The garbage streets is improved as it seems more landlords are cleaning the street but there are spots that remain gross especially adjacent to empty lots or building construction areas. Most people are friendly to newcomers. Prospect park is a huge asset. I am impressed and pleased that NYC is taking care of and improving the park especially south of Lincoln ave. "
