About this House

This is a quintessential Mammoth Lakes family home that sits up high on a wooded lot, bordering the national forest, with all-day sun and stunning views of the mountains. At 2,514 sq ft, and with 3 first-floor bedrooms (with an extra little den) and 2.5 bathrooms, this home offers spacious mountain-modern living. The structure maximizes the natural warmth of the sun, with the entire front facade of the home lined with grand floor-to-ceiling windows. This "solar wall" was constructed in such a way to provide full-sun exposure during the winter months, while the roofline provides a sunshade respite during the summer months. With extra workspaces, a two-car garage, and plentiful storage areas, all the cars, and Mammoth toys can be easily stored throughout the year. Extensively upgraded and re-modeled by the current owner throughout, you can feel the love and attention that has been invested into this property. After a long day on the slopes cozy up and enjoy the wood-stove warmth, propane-fireplace ambiance, and/or the private jacuzzi located just off the master. The expansive great room on the uppermost floor that houses the kitchen, dining, and living rooms offers custom hand-laid red and white oak flooring in an exquisite and dramatic herringbone pattern. With high vaulted ceilings and an open-concept floorplan, this space is perfect for entertaining in the winter and summer months. During the warmer months, enjoy al-fresco dining and BBQ-ing just off of the kitchen, while the kids use the opposite side of the house to expend some energy on the half-pipe skate ramp. Just behind the home lays a terraced patio with perennial herb gardens and an added bonus that the kids will love... a custom-built treehouse that has some of the best sun-set Mammoth Mountain views in all of town! Bordering the national forest, this property offers backcountry skiing/snowboarding/hiking access just outside the backdoor, and is the epitome of Mammoth Lakes living.  This property is being sold turn-key and fully furnished.  Call/text Gillian Parrish for more information.

"If you’re wealthy and you know how to manage HOA condominium complexes if that’s where you choose to live then you should be OK. However, if you are a labor or an undocumented citizen, this is a very expensive town to live in. The police department is very responsive and for the most part, the town is very safe, however if you don’t have a whole lot of money, don’t expect much help from local government or authorities"
  • Trulia User
