The educators at the school are fantastic however, the administrative staff has a lot to learn. There have been several incidents with male children attacking other male children or male children attacking female children. The administration will allow you to come into their office and are very good at placating the situation, but nothing ever comes of it. There is no discipline for these kids and no consequences for their actions. The principal demonstrates zero authority and from my understanding, from other parents, the school is going down from what at once was a couple years ago. This is my child’s last year there and we cannot wait to move to the middle school where I hear the Dean there is no nonsense and expects a certain type of behavior from the children. Children need authority, structure, and discipline at this age and unfortunately, Cory Elementary is unable to offer that at this time.

We decided to move here after our homeschool, which is a half a block away has 85% of the kids bussed in which has resulted in bullying on the girl side.Merrill seems to be a great fit. Our daughter has made some great friends, seems to be thriving in school.Parents are involved. Those who complain are probably not involved.Of course, there are always some issues with teachers. One or two that don’t seem to want to be there. School leadership seems to be top notch and headed in the right direction.Our daughter’s education is thriving. For the reviewer who had a weird comment about the food? Who cares how you cut the pizza if you don’t like the food, pack their lunch. Just be happy that they are serving lunch to the kids.Like any middle school, my daughter has noticed smoking. But we taught her stay away from those kids

I had the experience to do work on their school and found the people really put value on people and their school. five stars

The school and its entire staff from the principal to the maintenance staff are amazing. The principal welcomes everyone personally. I feel like they make an effort to know the child in order to help them thrive. They dont just make you feel like they care, they actually do.
