7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers and staff do virtually nothing about bullying and physical violence. There are posters about fighting against racism, but there doesn't seem to be any real action against it. In addition, there just as many bad teachers as there are good ones. Some teachers do not even teach at all.Student Review11mo ago9 Reviews - Western Albemarle High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIn my experience, this school is detrimental to college-bound students. Even though the student body is large, all the teachers are local and nepotism is rampant. It is quite a small-town game. The very limited awards and recognitions available at this school go to teachers' children and teachers' friends' children. As do the grades. They do not even try to hide it. Students need to be extremely careful when choosing recommenders for college, as teachers are not always forthright about their intentions. There were some glimmers of hope with the current principal that this could change, but it has not. It is very much a place where some kids matter and most do not.Parent Review1mo ago11 Reviews - Check out schools near 16 Deerpath Rd.

"Not too bad. Sometimes the main roads get backed up because of the lights, but it’s not as bad as a big city"

"Overall, just like the closeness of everything. It’s got lots of stores and unique experiences to have at local parks and even has a skate park at one park. The vibe is pretty good most of the time here. "

"This city could do some work. The streets are too narrow. Highway 29 is too chaotic and out of place. Charlottesville is too small to have a 8 lane road"

"Close to U V A, downtown, Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello and everything C’ville but surrounded by nature. We have the best of both worlds! I can not believe how many good supermarkets we have in the area. There are so many nature trails for walking and hiking. "

"Nothing unless you want to count the crime!!! The Spark is a terrible place to live! Gone through countless managers with everyone promising to make a change and the only thing that changes is the staff. Nothing gets fixed and the current office manager is rude. There is a serious rodent issue that everybody ignores and continually sends the insect companies to spray just so they can say they are doing something. Can’t wait to leave!!!"
