"I see people walking their dog most buildings around here are dog friendly as a dog owner just pick your dog poop up"
  • Miss.tiff2u
"I’ve lived here for 2 years and plan to stay. It’s diverse, safe (except packages), and everything is in walking distance. "
  • To Be Continued
"Too much traffic coming in and out of eckington, too many side and back streets and hoods mixed in with private owned apartments, people of interest stealing cars and feces from dogs everywhere "
  • chantele
"Many outsiders, meaning tourist, that makes this place less safe. Many hotels and place that people will use but not maintain because they are not from here."
  • Barry B.
"Easy and short with plenty of public transportation available. Getting around is not an issue in the area. "
  • Spindrift2323
"Live in NoMa. Very quiet neighborhood with all the apartment buildings. Not a lot of families but a good base"
  • Spindrift2323
"I’ve lived here for 10 months. We love the quiet setting with all the access to DC and surrounding areas"
  • Spindrift2323
"Quiet neighborhood with nice proximity to grocery stores and public transportation with lots of good restaurants "
  • Martin.O
"Very nice, large apartment buildings for a reasonable price. The area is slowly growing with more restaurants and entertainment options in addition to nearby Union Market. The main downside is a large homeless community encampment on sidewalks under multiple bridges in the neighborhood. "
  • Lauren U.
"Usually there’s a farmers market every Sunday morning in the summer! Luckily it’s actually right outside my building "
  • John R.
"Every third person has a dog. Dog parks and amenities in all the buildings. There's even a dog salon in the works."
  • Beneva D.
"I live in an apartment building that plans events. I can’t speak for the homes in the neighborhoods. But seems nice enough since there’s a big school. There’s also plenty of bug buildings being built around and Eckington Yards will have a grocery store and retail spaces. Not necessarily community events but builds a possibility, I imagine for late 2020/2021"
  • Derek ..
"Convenient location. The neighborhood is loud with sirens especially at night. If you rent from a big box apartment complex, the city of DC does not give you a parking permit for your car. You will be required to pay for parking at your apartment building ($180 a month). "
  • DC ..
"Easy commute to the metro. It’s not always safe especially at night. Lots of sirens. NoMa area needs more police presence. The bike lanes aren’t safe either. I was struck by a car that fled the seen. The area businesses and apartments do not record with cameras. "
  • Brandon S.
"It is easy to commute around DC around area. I commute out to Arlington from DC and I can also get to u street or cap hill using the 90 or 92 bus"
  • Daniel M.
"Stay at home during the night, this neighborhood is very dangerous. Don’t recommend staying in this area"
  • Stephen H.
"Gaps in redevelopment contribute to pockets of high area vehicle crime and harassment by those seeking handouts, often when alone or very late. Ladies please walk together. Overall, the neighborhood is clean and inviting."
  • Cristina J.
"Right near the metro. Easy commute to silver spring! Great commute. Scooters, Uber’s, metro all accessible. "
  • Ngan
"Great neighborhood but it’s mostly all apartment buildings so if you’re looking for a family style home, this probably isn’t where I’d recommend settling in."
  • Zach H.
"I’ve lived in the area for about 2 years and it’s great. First neighborhood in DC I’ve ever lived in. Everyone is friendly and it’s nice and quiet "
  • Jessica G.
"I walk from my apartment to the train each morning when it is dark outside and feel safe walking to and from. "
  • Madirosedesign
"Up and Coming, young professionals mixed with all age groups, lots to do a little expensive but worth it"
  • Madeleine V. A.
"I walk to work as I work in downtown, but I have great access to two major metro stations. Also Uber’s are very accessible "
  • Mj12su
"Great and inclusive neighborhood for any type of resident! Close to Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s as well as all the entertainment on H St."
  • Amaryllis a.
"Near supermarkets, Union station and H street corridor. This is a good, diverse neighborhood where you can walk to pretty much anything!"
  • scottpointer
