"We attended the Turkey Trot race at Thanksgiving supporting local schools. There’s a farmer’s market and an amphitheater where they have summer shows. "
  • Tlkathcart
"Many good walking trails. Sidewalks in most neighborhoods or wide streets. Lots of open spaces for dogs to play."
  • Callie Wright
"All the parents look out for all the kids in our area. Most everyone knows one another and keep an eye out for one another. We live about a mile from the schools and park. The kids are always out playing together. "
  • Patrick Romine
"There is no public transportation available, so you must own a vehicle or rely on someone who does to get you to places you need to be. "
  • Patrick Romine
"There is no public transportation available in this area. You have to have your own vehicle to get from point A to point B"
  • Patrick Romine
"We live in a rural part of Kearney and rely on private transportation to get around. There is no public transportation available to us. "
  • Callie Wright
"There’s always kids out playing. All my neighbors band together to keep an eye out on all of them. If something looks out of place, one of us is calling it out and getting the other parents involved. "
  • Skuner74
".....by far the best neighborhood I have lived in..... We all look out for each other without being all nosey in their others business. A great area to raise a family and schools are excellent!!!"
  • Jthies115
"Firehouse in town does things every holiday and so does the library . Pretty fun stuff. 1233444838495847"
  • Maggie K.
"Most areas in town are dog friendly. There are veterinarians in town for animal care. However, if your dog gets out, there is no animal control department. Make sure that your dog is chipped or when someone turns in your lost pet, the animal is taken to a shelter outside of town."
  • Skuner74
"It's a small with a home town feel, everyone looks out for each other. Schools are great and I love it here!!!"
  • Maggie K.
"I have lived in this neighborhood for 10 years. Neighbors are mostly quiet, nobody really knows each other though."
  • Maggie K.
"The Kearney citizens have a tendency to be judgemental based on the balance of a person's checking account. The schools are great though. There is also no community center or places for teenagers to hang out. Due to this, the teenagers tend to hang out in parking lots and cause trouble."
  • Patrick R.
"The highway we have to travel to get into Kearney from our neighborhood is dangerous with many blind hills. There have been numerous accidents along this stretch of the highway "
  • Pat R
"Schools are good with a lot of extracurricular activities. I do feel a better job could be done at the high school level to prepare graduates for college. Growing community that still feels small. "
  • James T.
"Regency is a very busy street and you should watch for speeding cars. There are lots of interesting things to see and do not n Kearney. "
  • Kasey K.
"More people have dogs than not in the neighborhood. Goo sidewalks and close to a trail by the high school "
  • Jthies115
"It’s a small friendly community. Lots of small businesses. Officers are regularly policing the area. Great schools and well kept neighborhoods. "
  • Trulia User
"I've lived here for 8 years and for the most part it's very quiet and everyone is very friendly and looks out for eachother"
  • Debra W.
"The schools are highly rated, the community spirit is high and the town is very clean and friendly. I love living here!"
  • Dana T.

  • Truckdriverguy26
"We have concerts at our Amphitheater every month. Kearney is a very friendly community to live. People are friendly and there is not a lot of crime in Kearney."
  • Mandy
"Kearney is a growing city that manages to hold onto it's small town roots. The people here are always friendly, and having excellent schools is a mark of pride for all who live here."
  • Kevincozad
"I live outside of Kearney on 3 acres which is common in this area. Large Super Market and Kearney Schools are close. Kansas City is a easy 30 min drive to City Center as is the airport west of Kearney 30 min."
  • flat_tard
"Great schools, quiet little town. Growing like crazy!"
