3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFor the 2014-15 term, Highland got a new principal. He is incredibly driven and strives to make connections with students, supporting them however possible. His enthusiasm is contagious, and he makes it clear he truly cares about students. While there are surely some teachers who are lacking that same enthusiasm, there are some stellar teachers who work endlessly to educate their students. Highland presents a welcoming environment, filled with diversity. I was hesitant to start attending the school last year, having heard about a negative reputation. I was pleasantly surprised. As a sophomore moving into my second semester, I am faced with nothing but future opportunities, encouragement, and guidance as I move forward. Thank you, Highland, for letting me grow as a person.Student Review9y ago - Whittier Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school has made a huge turnaround since the last comment was posted. In the last few years a new principal has come in that is extremely data focused. I see her message replicated in the teachers now. Students are making huge improvements in academics. Genius Hour is the most fun my child has ever had and she enjoys picking her new classes every few months. The teachers all seem very qualified or almost over qualified for their jobs. The school just has such a creative, caring and welcoming staff. I am super sad we will start online because I have been looking forward to seeing them all and enjoying the wonderful opportunities afforded to my child.Parent Review3y ago - Wilson Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWorse school I’ve ever seen even walking in the front door you’re greeted w/ a very rude over worked principal whom seems like he hates his Job and the school has varies TikTok’s and instagram accounts dedicated to “Wilson Middle school fights” as they happen daily there. Also the entire school is behind academically.Parent Review4mo ago - Coronado Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe overall vibe at Coronado is a positive one! The administration and teachers all work together for the good of the students and you can tell they are happy to be there! The lessons are engaging and the students seem to be happy to be learning.Parent Review2y ago - Nex Gen Academy

"I drive, but have had the unfortunate experience of having my vehicle stolen. This is not something the people of New Mexico are shocked about, the police and my coworkers all said welcome to ABQ when I told them. "

"Sometimes dog owners don’t pick up their dogs mess for whatever reason. Seeing dog droppings isn’t common but unfortunately there’s those few bad lemons that just leave their dogs business behind. Unfortunately another issue is the dog barking that happens often with owners ignoring them all day. Again, not often that it happens but it does. "

"Albuquerque is just a bad place to live. I hope to god I can move to a normal state soon. The schools are 49th of not 50th in the nation, the crime rate rivals Detroit. It’s not a good place to raise a family "
