They are letting my daughter be bullied and doesn’t say anything to her bully’s.

My son has gone to this school for three years now, and we love it! The special Ed teachers are awesome. The staff are all great, very helpful people. It's a small school but a great one, I hope we r able to go here all the way to 5th grade. It may not be a magnet school but it should be! All of the ratings I have found on different sites vary and some have large differences. I viewed gov sites and private also. All I know is we love this school. Teachers are great and the kids r happy!

We switched our child out of this school after a terrible 1'st grade experience. Our opinion of the principle, Ms. Weihe, is that she lacked integrity, and we felt she tried to bypass accountability for our child's welfare while gaslighting us. Our child's teacher was teaching a classroom of over 20 students without a secondary teacher helping them. There were multiple children in the classroom with clear emotional issues, and there were frequent reports of children fighting with each-other. Her methods of dealing with children were consistently punitive. Almost every week it seemed like something went wrong in our child's classroom or at recess. One day a child cracked his head open and was bleeding from his head. Ambulances came to the school to take the child to the hospital. Not a word about it was said. The teacher only expressed that the children had "a tough week" and she wanted to give them a pizza party at the end of the week. Our child started hating school and even expressed suicidal language early on in the school year. We wanted to get our child moved to a different classroom but were told it was not going to happen despite all of these things. The classroom reached temperatures of 90+ degrees early in the school year. This year we have found a much better school, but we are still dealing with the fallout of the damage caused by last year. There are so many things that were wrong about MVES that I couldn't possibly put them all here. There are 'some' great teachers at the school, but unfortunately that doesn't make the school better as a whole.

The school has made a huge turnaround since the last comment was posted. In the last few years a new principal has come in that is extremely data focused. I see her message replicated in the teachers now. Students are making huge improvements in academics. Genius Hour is the most fun my child has ever had and she enjoys picking her new classes every few months. The teachers all seem very qualified or almost over qualified for their jobs. The school just has such a creative, caring and welcoming staff. I am super sad we will start online because I have been looking forward to seeing them all and enjoying the wonderful opportunities afforded to my child.

My son has had a fantastic experience at Zia! The teachers, staff, and administration have all bee great. It's a very welcoming community. The school encourages families to get involved and participate in their children's learning. We have absolutely loved Zia so far!

just nowNEWMy son came to Holy Ghost from another private Christian school. Hands down, he is getting the best education at Holy Ghost. The staff's main priority is the children's education and keeping our children safe with love and grace. I highly recommend this school to everyone.

Finally, a New Mexico school that cares about its students and staff. Students enjoy coming to school and staff is friendly and helpful.
