About this House

Please read entire ad. Especially regarding security deposit, credit check and lease length. If interested, please respond appropriately as noted in this ad. Thank you for understanding and valuing our time.

Adorable, adobe home in the Keeling neighborhood (Glenn and Fontana) is available with a slightly flexible lease beginning around May 1st, for a 7 to 8 month lease through the end of this year or beginning of 2027.

Central location on a quiet, secluded street with great neighbors. Close to shopping, the university, restaurants and parks. Bike Blvd right here to easily get downtown or to The Loop.

Large fenced in yard with view of the mountains. Saltillo tiles/concrete floors throughout, Arizona room, A/C, washer (no dryer but clothing line) and parking on street or in fenced yard. Well behaved pets are ok.

Tenant must be able to maintain/water the very low hassle yard (trees, shrubs, etc..), remove occasional Bermuda Grass and Buffel grass that pops up as they are invasive to the area and cause native species to die and are a fire hazard.

Water, trash and sewer are paid by landlord because water use is expected for plant care.

Again, this is a short lease that goes through end of the year-ish when landlord comes back to live and work on house for another 2 or 3 months again.

A $1500 security deposit AND and last months rent is required to move in. Security deposit is returned after lease ends with interest if home is left in same condition as move in. Those with excellent credit and rental history may be able to negotiate these terms, slightly.

No move in fees, just the refundable deposit.

Landlord is an individual not a corporate company so we really do our due diligence to avoid issues. This home was built 100 years ago, literally using the cacti, grass and dirt it sits on. Ability to appreciate the character and nuances that come with renting an old, mud house is necessary. It is a continuous project. One we lovingly value. Some exterior stucco patches do not match and Interior paint colors are constantly changing so may be different than the photos.

Please respond with a bit about all who would be living in the house (including animals), your approximate credit score (Credit Karma is free), rental history and if the lease terms work for you. Helps to know that you read the entire ad.

Thank you!

*Tenant pays all utilities besides water/trash/sewer.
*Lease is 7-8 month lease, not 6. Zillow didn't have those options.
*Well behaved pets ok
*Tenant maintains the yard which is mostly watering plants and minimal invasive weed removal.

"I'm always love this neighborhood it's been here since I was a child have always wanted to come back to this neighborhood"
  • Trulia User
"many homeless walking around, some drug users. the complex has a bad unclean around area. looks unaafe."
  • Karina L.
"There are many dogs in the neighborhood. The problem is that many dogs are not kept securely in their fences. Many dogs are out and unattended and also bark at all hours of the day or night. There are not many sidewalks when walking a dog. Owners might like the neighborhood because there are many dogs. The Neighborhood would appreciate keeping the dogs contained."
  • Karina L.
"Close commute to downtown and the University. Easy access to Catalina Foothills and Oro Valley. Bus lines on 1st Ave. "
  • Karina L.
"None that I have experienced this far. Most people stay at home and there is no block parties or community events"
  • Marissamyers85
"There are none, this is a dangerous neighborhood without streetlights. There's a lot of crime so it's not special at all. I'm am scared quite often, as I live alone."
  • Marissa M
"There are a lot of strays constantly roaming the streets. There is also a lot of people walking the streets or acting strange due to drug use which causes dogs to bark consistently and your pups always are on guard."
  • BluePalowski
"Historic Tucson neighbourhood with houses from the 1930's and several proceeding generations. The neighborhood is constantly improving because of proud home owners maintaining and upgrading their home. The value is on the rise."
  • Jessica
"We have block yard sales and we have a library for everyone to use if they would like we have a nice set up and the renting people are very understanding they promote people moving into a family home they do not penalize if you want to move and it isn’t the end of your lease "
  • Sabrina C.
"although my street is very close to grant road, you don't hear the noise. very quiet with the occasional neighbor having a birthday party late. everyone sticks to themselves and everyone leaves everyone alone. "
