What Locals Say about South Tabor

  • Cstennant
"Other dog owners not following leash laws. People being obsessed with where you throw away dog poop. "
  • Cstennant
"I usually work in Milwaukie and have a 20-25 minute drive depending on traffic. Getting into Powell from my street can be a pain. "
  • Claudia D.
"Great neighborhood, close to restaurants, and awesome parks. However there are some homeless camps closer to the houses near Powell "
  • Timothy J. P.
"There is a Terrific language immersion elementary school in the neighborhood. And just across the fields of Clinton Park is the just refurbished, multi million dollar, state-of-the-art Franklin High School. "
  • Tiff Norton
"My neighbors have since day 1 looked out for each other. They have invited us to celebrate holidays and block parties. In turn, we've shared meals and watched each others families grow. I love S. Tabor!"
  • Ibcharger
"Harvest festival, community garden. Bike routes, parks and many families. Fun place to live. Nice to be able to walk to mount Tabor. "
  • Gtnicola
"I have lived here for 24 years. It is a quite cul de sac, neighbors are friendly, a frequently runnng bus stops two blocks away. I can walk to buy groceries. Mount Tabor is nearby."
  • Gordon M.
"South Tabor is an often over-looked neighborhood offering excellent values in traditional homes. Compared to Portland as a whole, Southeast PDX and particularly the 97206 area is undervalued. This includes South Tabor, where this classic Portland bungalow is located, just a few blocks from the most magnificent part, Mt.Tabor Park, in east Portland. Like many Porland homes of the pre-WWI era, this home is very solidly constructed, with old growth fir, thick concrete foundation, and solid floors and walls. Well cared for, this house will last another 100 years, at least!"
  • Catlikesthat
"People are friendly. Kid-friendly neighborhood. Pride of ownership in the neighborhood. Mt. Tabor is within walking and biking distance. Lots of bus lines. Easy access to downtown and to restaurants and cafes on Division, Hawthorne, and Belmont Streets."
  • Heather H. A. B.
"Safe and quiet, great for walking. Close to Mt Tabor park (also has a great dog park!). So many grocery stores, restaraunts and bars in walking distance. Community College right there! Farmers markets in nearby Montavilla & Lents. Many bus lines right there and very close to light rail. Stiil affordable, nice, family neighborhood."
