Penn Forest Township: lakeside living, easygoing, community-driven, outdoor-rich Poconos escape. People love the safe gated communities, lakes, pools, trails, and nonstop family events. They dislike no sidewalks, unleashed dogs, seasonal emptiness, and long, icy winters.

"I personally do not own a dog, but I do see a lot of people walking dogs. Most dogs seem very friendly. I do take walks around the neighborhood and do see dogs walking around and everyone really picks up after themselves so that’s really good."
  • Kaitlyn Murray
"The neighborhood is great. Vary quiet and friendly. I love stepping outside and hearing nature. Only bad side is that it’s so far from public areas. Like grocery store or shopping centers. Also any food places that deliver will not deliver out here making it difficult"
  • Lisaamcmahan
"Lots of people have dogs and they appear to enjoy the area. We do not have dogs. We have indoor cats"
  • Calista M.
"Halloween party, Christmas gathering, lakeside potlucks, fireworks on the fourth. Inter-community projects. Trash clean up days."

"The lake and associated playground is very nice. Local parks with sports fields/courts. Outdoor recreation in all directions. A lot of seasonal/vacation homes so it can feel quiet at times. "
  • Asia S.
"People let their dogs out with no leash. Not always the safest way to be with children around or people with other dogs."
  • Luis D. S.

"the area is peaceful for pets. unless your on a main road in a development there isn't much traffic to worry about with them. lots of local places for swimming and to go on a hike with. only downfall is no dog park and closest doggy daycare is about 30 min away "
  • Coldoaks
"we have yard sales, community dinners, adult swim time. so many activities to do right here in your own development. "
  • Coldoaks
"I've lived in the neighborhood of Indian mountain lakes. It's beautiful here with many amenities and 24/7 security. "
  • Coldoaks
"I've lived here for 10 years and enjoy everything from the wildlife to the community activities. with 2 pools and 5 lakes along with the community center there is always something to do. "
  • Paula A.
"I've lived in Penn Forest Township for nearly 11 years. The area is beautiful and we especially enjoyed the Summers when the fawn are born. The winters are cold and long and it's difficult to have a neighborhood feeling when you're closest neighbor only comes up to the mountains to vacation. We're moving to Bangor, PA where the houses may be closer but there is definitely a more community feel."
  • Dpark13
"Dogs that chase things would be very active here with all the wildlife. Other than that, nice, laid back neighborhood. "
