What Locals Say about Ruskin Hills

  • Trulia User
"Nothing it’s trashy and High in crime. Nobody even keeps their dogs in their own yards and the mosquitos will eat you alive because nobody takes care of their property"
  • Trulia User
"There's nothing to do here, we have very few restaurants, and there isn't any place to shop. I feel relatively safe in my part of the neighborhood and everyone pretty much stays to themselves but we do all wave to each other when we walk or drive by. Unfortunately, when I do go into the neighborhood Family Dollar or Dollar General, I'm rarely spoken to or acknowledged and I can only assume it's because I'm viewed as privileged. And yes, in case you're wondering I do speak and I smile first at anyone I pass in the aisle. You can definitely say Hickman Mills South is a far, far cry from what it was in the 1980's, and I don't mean in a good way"

"Watch your kids very close. Neighborhood children are careless and barely being monitored or watched by parents. Cars carelessly speed through neighborhoods and police are unreliable. Secure yourself!"

"been here almost a year. car ransacked twice, gunfire on a regular basis. Porch bandits frequently. Daytime is ok, night time the weirdos come out. Big dog, and home protection a must. People throw their trash everywhere and the city is horrible about picking up trash on easments and roadsides. Evictions are an eyesore, the stuff stays piled for days in front. The only plus is I have a wonderful landlord and rent is fair. "

"I live in this neighborhood, I had no idea of what I was getting into. Hoodlums everywhere! Gunshots almost every night. I already signed a least but don't plan on renewing once its up."

"My neighbors and I are hard working people who take care of our homes. I live in a nice, quiet, tree-lined neighborhood."
