"I’ve raised three kids in this neighborhood and have honestly no complaints. The people around here are great for the most part and the city of Grain Valley does some really cool things that other places do not. One example of this is a Santa, who literally drives through every neighborhood in the city and hand out toys to every boy and girl. He has done this since my 30-year-old daughter was a baby. The school system is awesome and for the most part, the parents participate well within the school district. "

"Easy access to all main highways. Always make sure you know the times the train goes through town, so you don't get stuck for 15 minutes lol. "
  • Julie A. S.
"my son has lived here several yrs and its very family friendly. lots of kids and great schools, newly built grocery store and gas stations close "

"There a lot of friendly neighbors. We feel safe. We feel people respect everyone. It’s not very nosy. Most people pick up pretty well. "

"Great schools, great small town feel. Have lived here over 10 years and recommend it as one of the best places in the KC Metro area. "

"Easy access to I-70 but if there’s a wreck further down, it could backup to either Blue Springs or GV. "

"People always walk their dogs around the neighborhood. I would love to have a city run dog park. One for small dogs and one for larger dogs. "
  • Kirbi H.
"I don’t own a dog so I don’t know how dog owners would like or not like. It seems like a perfectly fine neighborhood dog or not "

"Lots of people out walking dogs. The last day that the neighborhood pool is open, is a dog swim day. Also, very close to the dog park. "

"There are several community events throughout the year. Movies in the park spring into summer, fall festivals, the Santa bus that goes through the neighborhoods greeting all the children and giving gifts and free photos. It’s an awesome city and I wouldn’t live any where else!"

"I've lived in this neighborhood since the mid 80's. a lot has changed with gv since then and a lot of neighbors have changed too. ive chosen to stay here in this neighborhood because i like the quiet. i like that my kids have neighbor kids to play with while not being influenced by drugs or drinking. there is vertually no theft in this neighborhood. i almost never see cops being called here either. if your dog (or chicken) gets out, someone is always willing to bring it back to you. the parents in this neighborhood are also pretty good about teaching their kids values and active at keeping an eye on their kids as well as yours. i hate the idea of leaving this neighborhood when we will eventually outgrow this house. if only every neighborhood could as great as this one. "Great area, super close to big town commodities with small town living! Also very quite & always town renovations to make it that much better. Super good school district."

"I work at the plaza so it’s about 30 minutes. Not too bad if I leave early to avoid traffic. If I do happen to get stuck in traffic it kinda sucks but nothing like STL or Cali for example "
  • Cal_1963_01
"The area is perfect for families. The school system is well ranked and improving the schools continuously. The cost of living if fairly good."
  • Cari F.
"It’s not bad really if you are courteous and patient on the road most of the time others will act the same- it’s about a 20 ride anywhere in this area to work "

"I grew up here, I love the friendly people and the comfort of being "home". The crime rate is low, the highway is not far from any direction of Grain Valley. the community is also growing and getting good stores nearby. "
  • Amaewa
