"I have lived here for 20 years and am happy we picked this area and this subdivision. It's quite and the people are friendly. We take good care of the the streets and each other. Very pet friendly and good walking and bike riding area. There are a number of community volunteer places nearby. Post office, grocery store and library just around the corner and an elementary school and a middle school within three miles. Plenty of gas stations and a number of points of interest as close as 15 miles and certainly within 50 miles. Lots of hiking and bike riding areas nearby."

"Fairview is perhaps the most desirable area in Western North Carolina and certainly a very desirable area within Buncombe County. With the addition of the five lane highway, Highway 74A, the Fairview Community has seen tremendous growth. The Brush Creek Valley Area of Fairview is highly desirable due to the close proximity to top rated schools such as Fairview Elementary, the newer Cane Creek Middle School and A.C. Reynolds High School. The local community pool is located on Lower Brush Creek Rd. and is just minutes from Upper Brush Creek Rd. On Upper Brush Creek Rd. is a hidden gem that only locals know about. That hidden gem is D & R Carp Lake and Grill where families can enjoy a day of fishing tournaments and eat at the grill which serves the best burgers and steak sandwiches in the mountains. Quiet, peaceful and secluded yet just a few minutes to the main Highway 74A which takes you in one direction to the city of Asheville just 6 miles away or in the other direction enjoy a peaceful drive up the mountain past the continental divide to the lovely towns of Gerton, Bat Cave, Chimney Rock and Lake Lure where you can swim at the beaches or enjoy a day in the boat. Hendersonville is also close by and Cane Creek Rd. joins Fairview with Fletcher, Arden and South Asheville. Fairview is a tight knit community where parents are very involved in their children's schools and sporting events. It is not uncommon to have half of the parents on a field trip at Fairview Elementary. There are many things for the kids to enjoy in area such as playing in the creeks or swimming holes, basketball at the school, swimming in the community pool and AWANNA which is a program with games and activities for the kids and Wild Life where 100's of teens get together at a large barn for a supervised night of games and activities and field trips. You can't beat Fairview as one of the best places in the country to raise kids. "

"You wont find a better area, because, the subdivision is small, yet the roads were adopted by the county, minimal HOA fees, best schools, great views, etc etc. LIve in the country, yet you are so close to everything.."
  • Jsvarney
"This is a very convenient location while still being in the country with wonderful year-round views. It is 15 mins. to Asheville, 15 minutes to Arden and 20 mins. to Hendersonville. The backyard is fully fenced for children and pets. There is a wrap-around deck. Newly constructed double-car carpot. Clean landscaping."
  • Susan
"Beautiful (wooded, wild flowers), a habitat for deer, bears, squirrels, hawks, etc. Wild berries grow along the road. The top of the mountain is abt 4,000-4300 ft and at least 12 degrees cooler than Asheville. You can travel through clouds as you descend Flat Top Mountain Road. Residents are mixed-some are year round and others are seasonal. Very few with school aged children at the higher elevations. There is a gated community at the very top of FTM road, with a small lake/pond and shared acreage."
